a bit of trivia i found out recently - Dr.Nick looks like Gabor Csupo, the animator from the famous Klasky Csupo company, responsible for aaah, Real Monsters and Rugrats among others. He's also good friends with Mark Mothersbaugh and has collaborated with him. The Simpsons team thought that, because of his funny voice, Dr.Nick was meant to be a pisstake of the Hungarian and drew him as a caricature, only finding out later that his voice was meant to be a bad imitation of Ricky Ricardo.
