I wrote out like eight good shows ive watched recently, then punkas logged me out.

Cant be fucked writing descriptions now but these are all funny:
Crashing
Pulling
Fleabag
The Detectorists
Scrotal Recall
Love (Judd Apatow)

In The Flesh is good and poignant, but I wish it hadn't been cancelled

Stranger things was what you expect, and good. Preacher was fun. Vice Principals is lame.

The Detectorists is great. One of my favourite shows this year.

Quite like this one, just watched it again. The ending unravels a bit fast - there were 1 or 2 bits where I glazed over both times. The question trickery is childish, and if they couldn't figure it out then discovering the pointless text on the paper should hardly have helped. But most of the characters are classic.

Yeah I found it weird that they spent zero time discussing what the question could be, and how they might answer it. Although wrong, surely them working together as a team to determine which candidate would be best for the job makes way more sense than assuming there is a literal question they have to find?

Candidates start smashing lights and setting off fire alarms, HR: "we've made a terrible mistake"

Westworld. Kinda crazy how in a lot of ways we're not far off the and other sandbox world in this show, thinking about GTA and other sandbox games.

Captain Fantastic - Light hearted movie about a family living off the grid. I enjoyed it. I'm sure Croc and Suspect will love it :calavcalav:

(stupid name for the movie as it doesn't seem to have much/any connection to the story)

Miss Stevens - 3 kids and a teacher go to a drama competition. Pretty good. Maybe one for Kramer :tohlc: :calav:

This is way better than the stodgy 1970s BBC series. Still got to question why they had to introduce the incest stuff which wasn't in the novel, guess they wanted to make it racier for TV. Best performance is by Jim Broadbent as grumpy old Prince Nikolai Bolkonsky, he's hilarious.

Too cutesy for my taste and not very punk or rebellious, but did get a kick out of the 14 year old boys doing "Brezhnev Reagan Fuck Off" (apparently an old Swedish punk song by a band called SST).

Watched The Kettering Incident recently. Bloody good but was expecting a mini-series and the bewildering cliffhanger season finale was a pain in the ass. Will hit up second season for sure.

Also watched The Fall. Stressful as fuck, good drama and plenty of those sexy, sexy Belfast accents. Dunno if CBF with second season. If theres gonna be a third I think I'll pass. Thrillers that drag out can get fucked.

They're already on the 3rd, only 5/6 eps per season though. Pacing seems a bit slower this season, might be because I have to watch it week to week though

Pretty fun times. Lots of running around, firing MP40s from the hip, etc. Kinda like what I wish Inglorious Basterds had been a bit more like.

Also been catching up on the last couple seasons of South Park, as well as re-watching some classics. Some gemstone little bits I haven't seen in years.

Ted Danson in Bored to Death is one of my favourite things ever. Under rated. Will check out The Good Place.

This is probably the first major studio movie with a majority African American cast, it was made a year before Shaft. Great cinematography, the period Harlem locations are fascinating and of course the clothes and cars are cool as fuck. The acting is very hammy, Redd Foxx is probably the best performer here and he only has a supporting role. Story is kind of crappy (as are the jokes) but it's still worth a look just for the historical interest and the period detail.

This.

There's one episode where Maeve is getting shown her programming and I couldn't believe how well they'd nailed the NPC conversation logic, was awesome.
