Rocky Balboa. sweet film. everything you'd want in a Rocky movie. except maybe one small thing which would have been nice.

I was planning on watching a bunch of dvd's today but its a fucking amasingly beautiful day :(

but yesterday I watched cube 2 - hypercube. I had been told how amasingly bad it was compared to the first one but I didn't think it was THAT bad. The ending was less predictable at least.

Cunt, cunt, cocksucker, cunt, cocksucker, cocksucker, whore...such an awesome series. Might go hire series 2 from the Video ezy on Ponsonby road.

The last things I watched were:
the first 3 eps of Jericho - average
Evil Bong - average but funny
James Bond: Casino Royale - total shit

I'm going to watch the first ep of the new series of Rome when I get home tonight! AWESOME!

Casino Royale had some good moments, but while it portrayed a more "realistic" bond, it still had a bunch of a fanciful shite in it that just didn't gel right. the Free-running sequence at the start was awesome though. And it was a damn sight better than the last few Bonds (not that that's much of a compliment).

anyway, recent watchings for me:

LOTR Extended Editions (still gotta watch 2nd disc of ROTK, but goddamn, so much better than the theatrical cuts)

Venture Bros season 1 and 2 - Best animated series I've seen in a long time. Stylish as hell, funny as hell, and quite a bit of depth (for what its worth)

Babel - see the review thread... not really worth the fuss

Ugly Betty - oddly compelling...

The Wire - Best drama show, hands down.

Nip/Tuck season 4

Ugly betty is a blatant derivative of The Devil Wears Prada. going by the trailer of the show anyway.

Need to see Heroes, can't get reception for tv3 where I live.

it's actually a remake of a popular spanish telenovella, which I think preceded Prada. but yeah, don't much care, it's totally mindless, but the characters are engaging... and the dad on it was the voice of Manny Calavera in Grim Fandango, so bonus points there haha

that's one of my favourite movies of all time. Funny really cuz I went and saw it at the cinema when it came out and thought it was complete balls. This was primarily the fault of my own expectations.
By far Tarantinos strongest film
