The new Daredevil TV show, so so good - this is how comic adaptations are supposed to be done.

Pvt Pyles is fucking brutal as Kingpin.

Need more mindfuck movies (not cinema wank like The Fountain) just movies that leave you thinking about it all night and you can't sleep etc.

I thought this was pretty good for that.. kept buzzing out over it http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485947/

Come and See

Finally got around to watching this. Pretty fucking awesome, and unlike any other WWII film I've seen (made even more compelling by the fact that the genocide aspect is central here). Even though some of the more 'artsy' features in it got a wee bit annoying for me and the SS troops were demonised almost to the point of caricature, when taken in as a whole these things actually fit in sensibly. The impression I got was that to effectively represent this sort of stuff in film, an approach of 'realism' probably wouldn't have worked at all. Reminded me quite a bit of the miniature landscapes of Hell the Chapman brothers artists have constructed. Altogether, this is a piece of film-making that packs a massive fucking wallop.

Oh yeah, the soundtrack is great too.

Kwaidan - astonishing classic Japanese ghost stories - the soundtrack is nightmare inducing; the colour is vivid
Image

Grabbers - alien blood-sucking life-form invade rural seaside Ireland. the only way to keep everyone safe is to keep blood-alcohol levels up...
Image

Daybreakers - most humans have turned to vampires and the supply of fresh blood is dwindling so humans are captured and farmed
Image

All About My Mother - this one has Pedro Almodovar's vivid story and cinematography signature all over it
Image

True Romance - early Tarantino script directed by Tony Scott
Image

X-men First Class - probably my favourite out of all the X-men films - Xavier and Magneto recruits their first class of mutants to save the world

A fairly well known 70s exploitation movie... wasn't expecting War and Peace or anything but wasn't expecting it to be quite this shit. Bad direction by some Filipino hack, plot makes no sense, bad acting, and ridiculously bad choreography in the fight scenes. But you do get Jeannie Bell getting her tits out....
