That sounds rad!!

Finally watched La Femme Nikita. It was boss!!

Watched August: Osage County. Pretty bleak. Should've gotten someone objective to re-write the dialogue in the first third, at least, to make it a bit less stage-y. Other than that, was pretty good. Oh, except the closing credits - what the fuck was up with that?

Snowpiercer sounds awesome. Kinda like a sci-fi Iron Council. Which also needs to be made into a movie I guess.

Snowpiercer is a South Korean science fiction action film based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob & Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette.

The film is set in a future where a runaway experiment to stop global warming has caused an ice age that killed nearly all life on Earth. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the 'Snowpiercer', a massive train that travels around the planet and is powered by a perpetual-motion engine. Over time a class system evolves on the train, with the elites inhabiting the front of the train and poor inhabiting the back of the train. Tired of their poor living conditions, the riders in the back revolt, attempting to seize control of the engine, which the elites in the front consider sacred.

Watched this on sunday.

SPOILER ALERT: I thought Wilfred would outted as the developer of the chemtrail shit so he could live out his fantasy of being the uber fat controller and the train travelled the world sustaining the permafrost, so stopping the train would begin reverting the world to a temperate utopia but no, the survivors are polar bear lunch.

Heart warming and melancholic film of a boy with Asperger's Syndrome who meets the intelligent girl next door.
This was on TV late one night. Great cast - it has the guy from Hannibal and the girl from Damages.

Also has a fantastic soundtrack, currently listening to Joshua Radin

Also watched Snowpiercer. Took me about 3 days because I don't have much free time. So good, cool idea/art direction. Only gripes would be a few things didn't get explained, plus that one single monologue in korean that wasn't translated near the end, and the ending being way bleaker than needed. But awesome movie, punkas film crew comes through once again.

Comments are correct in that subs are not necessary. Dunno why all the filesizes are so huge, the top 7-8 torrents were all a couple GB, and I usually go for the ~800mb ones.

Ultimas imagenes del naufragio. A wacky film with some rather mentally ill characters as a metaphor for Argentina's economy in 1989.

Just watched it, thank you peoples for putting me onto it. I thought it owed a lot to one of my favourite directors, which was more or less phoned in during the second to last bit. However, I didn't think it was that much of a bummer ending. I took it as a big fuck you towards Confuciunist determinism. Which is good because Confucius was a massive greyface arsehole and responsible for about as much miserable behaviour in his part of the world as Plato was in the West(tm). Fuck both those guys.

All of the scenes where they talk in korean they have those little translator boxes so the western characters can understand them. As the only two korean characters, you miss what the security guy and his daughter say to each other, but they barely talk, and seem to be fucked up on drugs the whole time anyway. Subs might have added a bit of depth though

I thought it was good how they only subbed the bits where the translators were present. I like films that tackle language in that sort of way, the other characters didn't know wtf was being said, why should we...?

Yeah. I'm watching the first Captain America so I can watch the new one, but wow this is boring/by the numbers.
Downloaded a few interesting looking ones though.

I finally watched The Conjuring, and it was budge. Thusly, I complained all over the internet at this fact, and was given some sweet old timey recos. Watched the first one, The Woman in Black (80s original) last night, spooked myself the fuck out, and realised the reason new shit doesn't freak me is that I was obvs conditioned really young to find bad acting, spooky incidental musics, non-existent production values, and massive cheese factor scary. Which is fucking awesome. I love reruns, pretty close to telling modern cinema to go fuck tbh.

Awesome.

Pretty keen for more stuff like this. Or Flash Gordon for that matter. Cheesy 80s sci-fi. Rocking soundtrack. Ridiculously large breasts. The whole thing. Recommendations?

Dredd (2012): brutal and grim as fvkkk. Watched it on the blu-rays and every shard of shattered glass was a delight to look at. Also liked the isolated location, reminded me of Die Hard 2: Die Harderer, but didn't care much for Karl Urban's Dirty Harry voice

Fuckin loved this movie as a kid, I used to wonder why noone remade Flash Gordon considering the fuckin epic soundtrack could be replayed by modern bands. like Cannibal Corpse playing while Flash and Prince Vultan lead the hawkmen into battle etc (hollywood would probably get Metallica) and the scale of the sets and planetary domains is huge. the one problem is flash is a straight cut jock of a token american douchebag football playing patriotic fuckin blah blah. when i rewatched it a couply years ago i ended up wanting brian blessed to dong him one. Zarkov was the real hero.

dunno if this is your thing but

Fuck being budge. It's just shitty all around.

The first Insidious film actually does this type of film alright, same guys directing and everything, but then they just ate ass by doing the Conjuring and a sequel.

True Detective was pretty cool, felt kinda stephen king, with how long it took to build up and some of the settings.
Just started on Hannibal, which sounds like it'll be a good watch.
