^^^I tried watching this, mainly due to your lengthy and informative review you gave Kerry. Lol.
I dunno, he played a really good roll (Adam Sandler, wow , never thought I'd say that), but it was just painful suspense to what I deemed to be a predictable and tragic ending. I stopped half way through and watched monty python.

Was there a surprise at the end or did he end up lonely and destitute/ dead or in prison? Wife takes all his remaining wealth and probably dobbed him in?
Angry African American / professional basket ball players smash up his shop and car etc.
He makes a few desperate attempts to hold his life together before some emotional and melodramatic scenes of him screaming in frustration, presumably in the middle of the street, at night, in the rain
..?

I thought Adam Sandler played a pretty good role in Click. One of those movies that's way better than the premise, but mostly because the premise is absolutely retarded. I don't feel the need to seek out more of his good roles any time soon though.

Watched the other day. Feature length debut from Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness etc.) which he's since disowned. Can see where he started the socially awkward characters thing, only he's the main actor in this one and he really was that socially awkward at the time. Not sure if he really thinks the whole film is that terrible, or if he just had a bad experience making it or doesn't like seeing his awkward past self as the main focus. Anyway, I thought it was pretty good.

Just watched Ready Player One, 5 months after Dubpunker recommended it. The turnaround time for my movies-to-see list is improving, huzzah.

I thought the virtual world they created made the movie a good bit of escapism. I like reading the reviews on RateYourMusic.com as they're a less mainstream bunch - and they're mostly quite negative about this one. They complain about the excessive pop culture references, but that's what you'd expect people to load into a VR sandbox, albeit some different ones by 2045. One reviewer refers to the VRchat was a mistake video, and just look at the Thomases swarming around the giant Ronald McDonald. Ready Player One's virtual world is believable as an optimistic/fantasied extrapolation from that shit. About what you'd expect compared to people being glued to their phones now too.

edit: The Shining part in particular looked like a heap of fun.

At least they saved the day so people will cuddle their partners on Tuesdays and Thursdays. :baton:

Watched this fantastically crap Honk Kong action movie recently.

Pretty sure all of the music in it is stolen, including some poorly re-cut versions of well known songs by bands like Pink Floyd. The styles in the soundtrack are all over the fuckin show. Another bonus is the overdubs seem to all be done by 3 Australians, and their attempts at accents range from shit to real shit. It actually has a relatively complex plot with lots of characters, but since the continuity and editing and basically everything is so fucking shoddy it gets pretty confusing if you aren't paying close attention.

***** Highly recommend.

'I Like It When You Die' is the fourth album by American grindcore band Anal Cunt. The album was originally titled You're Gay, and the album cover was going to contain a mirror, but this idea was later changed

Absolute bollocks, like a bad stand up comedian who thinks saying "fuck" a lot makes him Bill Hicks. Thanks for getting your gear off Elle, appreciate it.

Batman Begins the other night. And The Dark Knight last night, but passed out towards the end. Seen them before and they're excellent. Bale plays the best Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Heath Ledger was a remarkable Joker. It's also interesting looking into Ledger's Joker after having watched Joker with Joaquin Phoenix recently. (hu btr?)

Fun enough. The Angels can't act, the music is alright and then there's this bit where a young lady invents a new style of diving into water: https://youtu.be/eUNuAfQMC3E?t=1914

Worth watching?
I just finished a book on the Red Orchestra, the underground berlin based communist group who were killed by the S.S.
Wasnt the best book I've ever read but I learned more about germans giving info to the Soviets during ww2. Who and why etc, more so how and what effect it had on the outcome of the war. They gave up a lot of info on the Wermachts movements leading up to Stalingrad, although Hitler would of lost that regardless of the leaked info, was pretty coked up by then.

'Labyrinth of Lies' is a really good movie. Watched it last week. Reveals how little the next generation of Germans knew about Auschwitz. Looks into coming about of the Frankfurt trials of 1963
