Punk Rock Road Trips Presents…in association with Artist Voice

The Hard On’s (Australia) NZ North Island Tour 2013

“ Never has so much been owed by so many to so few chords...”

If you consider yourself a music fan and you've not heard the name Hard-On’s then you must have lived in a cave for the last 28 years!
The Hard On’s are not only Australia's most endearing and commercially successful independent Punk Rock band, but founding member
Peter (Blackie) Black is also considered one of Australia’s living legends And, if he ever dies, rumour has it he will be dipped in bronze and mounted
on the Sydney Opera House steps as a permanent national treasure.

With17 consecutive number 1s on the independent charts in
Australia. TV appearances on major shows in Japan, England, Germany,
Finland, Spain, France and Greece! A top 10 hit in Spain, a top 5 hit in
Greece, a top 5 hit in the NME charts as well as recording a version of AC/DC’s “Let there be Rock” with Henry Rollins.
The Hard On’s certainly are (or should be), a household name in every country.

The Hard-On’s music can be described as a series of short exciting bursts of
undiluted rock and roll. Elements of metal, punk, bubblegum pop and
powerpop blast the listeners’ sensibilities with both beauty and brutality. It is
all over in under three minutes and then they move on!

The live set is a humorous and unpredictable affair of the highest
order: a truly action packed bare-chested glory that is bound to leave
footprints on one’s skull. Explosion after explosion of feedback, distortion AND
pure melody exit via frightening velocity and taste! Words like “legendary” and “must-see” spring to mind.

See them in NZ this August at:

Bodega, Wellington - Thursday 8 August
with Spaceplague, Gripper and Generation Dead

Rhythm, New Plymouth - Friday 9 August
with Shut The Hell Up, Gripper and Generation Dead

The Kings Arms, Auckland - Saturday 10 August
with Gripper, Generation Dead, Prowler (and possibly Scumbeat...)

Tickets on sale from http://www.undertheradar.co.nz, Real Groovy Records, Slow Boat Records, RPM, Vinyl Countdown and Rhythm Bar (NP)

Will be looking at a South Island tour a bit further down the track, just couldn't make it work at the moment. Cheers, Tim

You forgot to say hard working, haha.

Seriously though if you don't go to this you're a massive faget.

Yeah especially after not being able to play tonight, we're all amped as though. Oh also my flatmate has sorted us a van (she works for a transport company) so we'll be roadtripping ourselves. I'll have to have a look at what Bryce has then thanks dude!

Dickcheese

But since Keish has left, Alfaalfa males may be a good one to check out given that it was their last release.

Well the news just keeps getting better...Nelscum's ugliest export Gripper will be appearing at all shows, and rumour has it that Chris is now back from the rock and roll wilderness after Bass man Dan got abducted by a lonely Cougar from up North.

And not too mention New Plymouths own Shut The Hell Up have reformed and will be playing their first show since bloody ages ago. Good times.

Supports are now:

Bodega, Wellington - Thursday 8 August
with Spaceplague, Gripper and Generation Dead

Rhythm, New Plymouth - Friday 9 August
with Shut The Hell Up, Gripper and Generation Dead

The Kings Arms, Auckland - Saturday 10 August
with Gripper, Generation Dead, Prowler + 1 TBC (maybe...)

Dogey Dave and his all star band of sexy MF's Scumbeat will be opening the AK show now. Hellishly good line up if I do say so myself.

Auckland show is now gonna double as the Punk Rock Road Trips Mid Winter Party #2 - with The Hard Ons headlining. Nothing is gonna change really except Prowler have been added and there will be a merch area like last year but this will be upgraded a bit (more details on that TBA).

Confirmed bands are now Generation Dead, Gripper, Prowler, The Hard Ons although I still haven't been able to confirm Scumbeat but hopefully all good there.

Also The Hard Ons will have one piece of an original A4 sized artwork to give away at each show and we will run a lottery at the door for people to enter this.

Stay tuned for more details...

Sounds like the sort of premature announcement I would use capital letters to yell about. :baton:

Sweet burn - I get the joke

But just to clarify Scumbeat originally said "yes" then it became "hang on a minute while we sort something out..." hence my slight backtrack on them. :baton:

Ops - forgot to put up the confirmed line up for AK. The Prophet Motive and Paul Hooli will do two sets each in the Sports Bar between the bands in the main room.
