The Business (UK) Australasian Tour Oct/Nov 2011

Postby NOIDEAWOTEVER » Tue Jul 19, 2011 9:31 pm

Australasian tour announced.

It’s Oi, it’s Punk, it’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, it’s whatever you want to call it, and ‘The Business’ are at the top of the game.

Led by the inimitable Micky Fitz for three decades, ‘The Business’ were first seen on Antipodean shores in 2009 as the under-card act of an international street punk double bill. The result was an undisputable six – nil victory in their favour. To say they impressed with their powerful and honest live performances is definitely an understatement, and the time has now come for ‘The Business’ to bring their world-class live shows on a headline tour of Australia and New Zealand this summer.

Tickets for all shows are very well priced and are on sale now. They will sell fast, so best get in early to make sure you don’t miss the street punk event of the year.

Wednesday 26 October, Enigma, Adelaide
with Wolfpack, Standard Union and Murder City Hooligans
Thursday 27 October, The Lewisham Hotel, Sydney
with RUST + Topnovil
Friday 28 October, The Tote, Melbourne
with Bloody Hammer + Marching Orders
Saturday 29 October, The Prince of Wales Hotel, Brisbane
with Plan of Attack, Mouthguard + Topnovil
Sunday 30 October, Shed 5, Gold Coast
with The Scam, Plan of Attack + guests

Australian tickets from http://www.oztix.com.au and oztix outlets
Adelaide tix from http://www.moshtix.com.au/event.aspx?id=49265

Wednesday 02 November, The Musicians Club, Dunedin
with Suicide Bombers + Infinite Justice
Thursday 03 November, The Venue Music Bar, Hornby, Christchurch
with Gripper + Death Throes
Friday 04 November, Bodega, Wellington
with The Bludgers, Dead Vicious and Black Chrome
Saturday 05 November, The Kings Arms, Auckland
with Last Rockers, Lager Louts + The Tearaways (Melbourne)
NZ tix from http://www.undertheradar.co.nz, Real Groovy Records (AK), Slow Boat Records (Well), C4 Coffee (Chch) and Cosmic Corner (Dunedin) $32 + b/f. Door sales $40

For the support slots still available I will run a poll or a vote for those spots as I hate having to choose the supports. Details TBA.

Guestlist will be strickly limited to 'partners' of the support band only, so don't rely on your mate getting you in free if they are in one of the bands. It's cheap enough anyway so don't be a stink cunt.

Tickets are now live on http://www.undertheradar.co.nz/utr/ticket&pid=144 and hard tix will be available in Chch and Dunedin in the next few days. The Dunedin Muso's Club will most likely have some for sale too.

any idea of whos in the band this time round Tim looks like their old drummer micky going by the poster and sorta like Steve Whale with a goatee beard next to him but thats a guess. They blew Sham 69 off stage in AK I thought last time and were meanas in Christchurch too. Looking forward to this

Mike, I think it's the same guys as last time Micky - Trots - Chris but I think there's a new guitarist, not sure who that is yet.

That pic I used for the poster is old, I just liked the photo!

Got a wee mention in the Herald too (underneath the mainstream bollocks) haha http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment ... d=10739716

tried looking on the net their old website aint been updated in ages and myspace says little. I think the current guitarist maybe the same guy that now plays for Anti Nowhere League (not Jez who toured here with ANWL) Johnny Skullknuckles cant remember where I read that and I could be wrong. Shame Tosh aint on the guitar as he did a mean job must be all those years of playing with Tez Bones (Discharge, Broken Bones ,Ministry, SUbs etc) in Section 5 but whoever Micky Fitz brings out is bound to be a great guitarist as Tim told me (from a member of the Business last time) when auditioning for the band you get a songlist to know what to play and in the audition you only get one chance and if you stuff that up you dont get in.

That would be ultimate good times! That S/T Partisans LP kept me going as a teen...still thrash it like it's nobody's business. Even their 2001 and 2004 releases had some rockin' stuff on them. Have been wanting to cover "Fire" for a long time.

Infinite Justice's cover of "I don't give a fuck" was top notch also!

Yeah Anger and Fear (You're all along) and Power and the Greed are probably my favourite songs by them. But there's heaps of other awesome songs by them, would be cool to see them live.

Yeah that too....I doubt Cal will ever be on vocal duties again(which I'd really like to see) not saying that Rat is a bad vocalist...just it would kinda feel like it was the Varukers playing again...which also wouldn't be a bad thing. Double Bill haha?

Never really rated the Varukers but I'm kinda kicking myself for not going to their shows. Seeing a band live usually wins me over.

I saw them about 9 shows in a row and loved every night, it just seems to work so much better live.

I've said this before but I doubt Discharge will ever make it over as they just don't seem interested from what I can tell.

We are devastated by this outcome. We will post more in the next day. Thanks for your support

Yes I just saw that on facebook too. Al will be gutted as he was expecting to be back in business at that venue soon, which is why I booked his venue again.

I will still be doing a Chch show for this and I'll start looking for another venue now. Those tickets already bought for Al's will still be valid for the new venue of course.

Cheers, Tim

Actually if anyone can give me feedback about possible Chch venues that would be great thanks. So far some names I've heard as possible venues are:

The Brewery
The Columbo
The Esplanade
and some new venue in Hornby although I don't know the name of it.

I need a venue that holds around 200 or so people with a decent stage and house PA.

Any info is much appreciated.
