R*U*S*T: Street Punk Sydney Style. New Zealand Tour March 2010

Formed mid 2005, RUST feature ex members of some of Australia's most prominent past punk rock bands (Crucified Venus, Crankcase, Rule 303, Gravel Rash, World War 24) and have fused all this together to make a front foot forward, rock and roll rust bucket road train of a band that has no shortage of talent, passion and experience.

Listening to the records and seeing the band live confirms what you already know: PUNK IS NOT DEAD. The anthem-like choruses carry the energy and echo of UK82 and the spirit of the street still runs rabid through the veins of these four uglies.

One thing is for sure, no beauty contest will be won by this band, and they are quite possibly the shortest punk band in the world…But as we all know, great things come in small packages and experiencing them live, the raw power is guaranteed to blow ya face off!!!

RUST are not just an essential band on the Australian local punk scene, they’ve also established themselves as the support band of choice for promoters of international bands such as The Exploited, Uk Subs, Sham 69, The Business, The Varukers, the list goes on…Not too mention touring England and playing the pinnacle of the punk rock calendar, the prestigious Rebellion festival…twice!

Not only has this hard working band paid their rock and roll dues, they’ve even found time to head into the studio and put together a healthy catalogue of recordings (available from http://www.pugmusic.com). The result is a contemporary, accomplished and uncompromising take on the classic sound of the streets.

If you don’t like your music hard, fast, rough around the edges and damn proud of it...then stay at home with a cup of tea and a biscuit. All others grab a pint and we’ll see you in the mosh pit!

New album ‘Lean, Mean, Street Machine’ out soon and New Zealand tour March 2010

great little spiel there Tim, really looking forward to this one, Bazooka fkn stoked to be on the bill, and cool to see our good friends Infinite Justice there as well.
Might have to head up to CHCH the next night too, been wanting to catch Vicious Rumour for a while.
Some wicked lineups through the whole tour.
Let me know if you need a hand with anything down here Tim, sure Roger will have most of it sorted anyway.

Are we guaranteed to see mid dance-floor coitus? Cause if not probably won't go.

There's a toilet of sorts now, somewhat of a "short drop" around the back.

Also, its often possible to use the upstairs toilet if you are that way enclined, you just need to talk to the right people.

The Outsiders played with Rust in Sydney was pure filth and people were fucking on the dance floor.

Vicious Rumour are a great band best street punk band in NZ in my opinion.

I agree too, and so does the band. But played live it all sounds mean as.

The sample cd I sent out has three songs from their new CD "Lean, Mean, Street Machine" which they'll be bringing with them to sell. They've also got a new guitarist who has really tightned up the sound. Some of the earlier songs have been re-recorded with the new guy and are on the new cd too.

I'm guessing they'll update the myspace page when the Cd gets officially released... 8)

That wellington line-up looks awesome. Defo keen.
Might even try head to one of the SI shows.

Also interested in getting to see people rooting for free, if that is actually involved. Will laugh heartedly.

looking forward to this show more and more been listening to 3 song sampler heaps hardcase lyrics with great guitaring closest I could describe them would be ozzie version of hardskin, crossed with Hardons guitaring when they were real good and heavy and a bit of New Plymouth sound like Inebriation maybe slightly Sticky Filth chucked in and great tempo changes some riffs HC as well. Good hardcase style something NZ lacks humour and musicianship think some HC kids may well enjoy there sound this aint just any old guitarist dude has riffs down
