Live music fans are in for a treat as popular local bands Chuganaut (Hamilton), The Rabble and False Start kick off NZ Music Month with an all-ages gig at the Ellen Melville Hall.
Organisers say the gig will highlight the great talent and range of styles in the NZ music scene and hope it will encourage attendees to check out more local groups.
The Rabble are one of the most popular and longest-running punk bands in New Zealand. Mainstays the Hill-Hayr brothers say they 'will never quit and will never back down'. Hamiltonians Chuganaut describe themselves as "loosely based around ‘Rock’, ‘Alternative’ & ‘Twisted MetaL’ styles with Mellow & Heavy Extremes!", while locals False Start play a less-confrontational - but just as energetic - brand of rock n roll - just don't call them 'Emo' warns frontman Andrew Morrison.
Tickets will be available from Real Groovy shortly for $15 plus bf, otherwise limited doorsales will be available on the night for $20.
Chuganaut, the Rabble and False Start - 2nd May 2008. Ellen Melville Hall, High Street, Auckland CBD. $15 plus bf
