And i really would'nt enjoy that either, 'Launch Off To War' is still sitting in my record collection, I'd flog it off, but ive come to holding on to records for nostalgas sake, even if it is bollix yankee street punk that's about as genuine as a pair of Raybans from the $2 dollar shop. The VIrus were of a similar vain but they did a sweet Blitz cover on one of their 7'' so for some bizarre reason im convinced that makes them more acceptable. Either way, The Unseen were far shitter than Cheap Sex and The Virus combined. One of my yankee mates knew Mark from the unseen, as the story goes its very likely he still resides in his moms basement, as he was well into his adult life and punk career. Maybe his mums lovely, im not saying its wrong to live with your parents well into your thirties, its just hard to take punks talk of changing the world seriously when their mum does their washing. Yankee street punk is hard enough to take seriously as it is. The only good yankee street punk band is Oxymoron....and theyre actually Deutsch and just sing in english with a yankee accent.
Oxymoron are mean, Im gonna put them on right now

Haha I listened to Launch off to War the other day. The nostalgia was incredible. The Unseen were always pretty meh for me, some good songs, lots of filler. Oxymoron are a bit of fun, but I get bored after a few songs. The Pack is Back was my favorite of theirs.

Saw The Casualties in Bristol a few years back, never thought of them as the most uh.. profound band, but it was enjoyable none the less. Wouldn't be in a hurry to listen to them now though.

As for cringy stuff I wouldn't listen to again, it'd definitely be a lot of those high school pop punk/ska bands - Unwritten Law, Anti-Flag, AFI, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, etc. Never liked Pennywise - always felt like jock punk to me. Sadly the cringe worthy cross over 'melodic punk' bands are what a bunch of my friends seem to enjoy these days. I think it's worse than the shit I listened to as kid.

Fuck, i tried to listen to some Pennywise. Couldn't even get through a whole song off Full Circle.

I can still handle small helpings of NOFX, but only So Long. I actually listen to Frenzal Rhomb quite regularly though :baton:

It's a pretty good song, absolutely dripping with late 90's. Aparantly it's the theme song for Dreamworld in Brisbane these days

Frenzal Rhomb are one of the best bands I've ever heard.

Really liked Meet the Family, but didn't get into much of their other stuff. They sounded pretty shitty at no sleep till auckland I thought, but then again so did everyone that played.

I think they are pretty self-aware and don't take themselves seriously so you can't really regret liking them

yeah, they were involved in a burning of an Australian flag on stage, this I quite appreciate. Australians are pretty fanatic about their flag, I'm pretty certain its a legal requirement to have at least one southern cross tattoo and three Flag related bumper sticker on your car at all times. It was a ballsy move burning a flag is what I'm saying.

For me probably Blink 182 and Sum 41 are probably the closest thing to punk that I listened to and am ashamed to admit. Still have time for NOFX type shit/late 90s/early 2000s "punk rawk" or whatever that particular brand of pink was referred to. I've definitely gone through phases where I couldn't stand it though.

Death metal is another kettle of fish. I listened to some straight up shit metal in my early 20s (ie robotic technical shit, "brutal" overproduced shit) that I thankfully grew out of.

Blink 182 is the best band.

I guess I listened to that Avril Lavigne sk8a boi song when it came out, which is punk as FUCK. But I'd still put it on in a heartbeat if I spotted it at karaoke and I was drunk enough - so my main shame is probably not being as ashamed as I definitely should be

edit: same as Martli, the try-hard 'extreme' music is way more embarrassing, including stuff I still listen to. eg some NS black metal bands and porn and goregrind etc which is undoubtedly all retarded
