Cool, I see that there's going to be a ska fest show in December, probably won't be back in time for it though. The lasts few ska shows I went to in Auckland I didn't recognise anyone, was super weird.

I was listening to the roofdog album the other day, it took such a long time for them to make, but damn it's good.

^ With Dubbies. First time seeing Dino Jr... J Mascis is a brilliant asshole and the band was fantastic. No encore too. 10/10 show.

Best last show was FCKER with Ringo Starwars. Packed hole in the ground venue. Great sound, excellent dancing and solid vibes. 10/10 show.

Tonight: SHORT AND LOUD FEST #4 - 10 bands; 10 minute sets. Perfect.

Oh man, I was going to go to this but I got the times wrong (though it started at 8pm not 6pm) and my dinner ran late so I missed out. Looked like fun.

I saw some other bands while in Berlin but have no idea what the names were.

Excellent party last night! Can't remember the bands but they were cool. Dancing with a cardboard box on head is fun. Hilarious punk rock wrestling. Good vibes all round. 11/10.

First show of 2017 was The Saddest Landscape at Jugendklub Linse in the former East. (One of the last surviving GDR punk venues.)

Other bands playing were Dangers, Swain and Svalbard. It was okay, but kinda generic screamo that all sounded the same. Still had a good time.

Saw this band at Valhalla on spooky ol' Friday 13th. The drummer is a beast, and the singer has an impressive mullet. They were well decent.

Same in Auckland!

This shot isn't by me, but I wasn't far from this when it happened.

'I Like It When You Die' is the fourth album by American grindcore band Anal Cunt. The album was originally titled You're Gay, and the album cover was going to contain a mirror, but this idea was later changed

Dad Jokes video release party at Whammy in Auckland. The Conjurors were fucking excellent as usual. Bloodbags were in top form, with Matt Rapley back in the country they played a set as good as ever. Sere wasn't the best I've seen them but still cool. Dad Jokes video was pretty fuckin funny, their set was typical Dad Jokes partying.

Night after that was Wizz Kids and Contenders in the Whammy back room. Missed Sick Old Man and was gutted. Next time. Caught Long Distance Runner and they were on fire. Really digging this band. Although it includes Simon and Jono from Parents, they're very different from that band. Less heavy hardcore punk and maybe more like classic screamo. Whatever, they were crushing it. Contenders are honestly one of the most impressive NZ live bands for me at the moment. Cilla is a fucking awesome frontwoman, powerful voice. Argh, this band fucking kills. Recommend checking them out. Wizz Kids played one of the best sets of theirs I've caught. But fuck, they're always solid. Chris was belting it out on the microphone.

Also managed to catch some of Nick Cave while I was working at the Auckland show. Quickly wished I could watch more of it. Sounded fucking amazing, stage and band looked great, made me want to listen to more of him and the Bad Seeds.
