Im not gonna pretend that combat 84 dont have sketchy lyrics and are far more patriotic than i am. But I wouldnt call them a rac band, they wernt on a rac label and didnt play 'rac' style music. You might be thinkong of condemned 84, they were far naughtier and played with nazi groups
Id say they were an oi band that walked the line pretty hard.
Last resort were also never rac.

Hmm i did a bit of research. Didnt realise they had couple tracks on rock o rama. Bit hard to say theyre not a rac band when they were involved in that shit. Well that put a dampener on my day

But also some punk bands were on Rock a rama that avoided such rac accusations. But then again the Skeptix probably never had a membet making questionable remarks

Yeah its an awkward situation. I just got this mean red and yellow Anti nowhere league shirt printed recently, not having facebook im a bit slow with news, and then i read about gbh and the restarts petitioning to boycott the league for their extreme homophobia. Never even heard the 'Day the world turned gay' album before. Its literally hate speech. Im not easily offended, but that album changed my view of that band quite majorly. I can overlook certain things, but not that.

Lol you're talking about a bunch of bikers who still thought it was cool to wear swastikas in 1981 and who sing about fucking animals and schoolgirls and being child molesters ("shock value" and all that).... they're just totally offensive in every way and that's their whole schtick. The other stuff is ok but homophobia is beyond the pale?

To be honest, yeah
Songs like 'so what' i find amusing. Theyre obviously meant to offend. I find that a far cry from an entire album dedicated to pinpointing and persecuting someones sexual preference.
Also id be more inclined to defend their later stuff as merely 'shock value' if it wasnt musically weak aswell as daft. They had one awesome album and they have been living off its success for 40 odd years. In desperation for recognition they get more and more extreme in the offensive department. They took it well too far. And their musics transcended into a pile of poorly written shite with the word fag thrown in every now and then

A correction, "The day the world turned gay" was not an album, it was a track on the "pig iron" album from 2006 and written around 1998 when George Michael's toilet exploits were in the news. Pretty sure it wasn't meant any more literally than "so what" and "animal".

Jesus, proven wrong twice in one week in one forum. Rough week for brownie....
Although not surprised i was wrong about it being a single and not an album. Cos i never payed much attention to what they did after 1982 being that it was average.
Their most recent stuff i accidently stumbled across on an oi sampler from.germany ( 'Never drink alone') also contains allot of gay slander. Im not pc at all but i think when you play music to a predominantly unpoliticised audience, ( which a large amount of oi punks, skins, metal heads and more broadly, bogans are) you do run the risk of convincing them your serious....
I.e i think repeatedly referring to homosexuals in a negative light could reaffirm someones prexisting homophobia where as saying 'i fucked an goat and peeped through a hole on the toilet cubicle' is far more obviously having a laugh.
Ive seen them live. In all honesty.id probably watch them again. I like their first l.p allot. But I think they have transcended into a desperate case .

'I Like It When You Die' is the fourth album by American grindcore band Anal Cunt. The album was originally titled You're Gay, and the album cover was going to contain a mirror, but this idea was later changed
