ive been wantin one of these for a few years now,.Any info about some double bass' for sale at good prices or how easy it is to make one? dick dynamite, how much was yours? where etc

That thread's not entirely true anymore.

These days I use Innovation Silver Slap strings and a K&K Rockabilly Pickup/preamp.

The strings set ya back about $140, pickup maybe $400. I have an even cheaper/shitter bass now though, haha.

Still stand by my original comments though - buy a cheap piece of shit bass and some sandpaper, modify the bridge yourself and get good strings/pickup.
