On the topic of active and passive I did a mod for a guy on his bass. A little circuit that I designed that when you plug the lead in it runs a battery test. When plugging in the LED turns on for about 2 seconds and goes out if the battery is good. Stays on if the battery needs replacing which is about 7.9v-8v depending on the bass that's about the voltage range when it starts to sound crappy (or awesome)

Pretty sweet little mod. Only a small amount of electronics in it too.

You should have installed a mod that turns a warwick into a good bass.

So did Aria's used to be good? Or is it a totally different brand to what the rockshop now sell. Because those aren't so good.

Some of the old ones are boss. That Cardinal series are sick, but there are a bunch of lemons. I think the company went under and have come back as a budget brand.

Aria Pro II's are sweet. That's a good score. Cliff Burton used to play one.

chiming in late, ibanez blazer p bass 1980-81 (bl700), ash body maple neck, try and get one made in 1980 with a unsplit super P pickup, brass bridge pretty bright sound. go for about $400 on TM. own 2 and both are great.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matsumoku are the dudes responsible for the good Arias. New shit is total crap. Just like how Acoustic Control Corporation got started back up by Guitar Centre in the states and made a mockery of the original product.

PS Benlee you still owe me money. Who has that bass these days? May just have to repo that shit.
