Gear wish list

Postby toothbrush » Mon Oct 18, 2010 12:48 pm

Say, if someone was to start importing good second hand stuff from the USA that's hard to get here what would you want?

Maestro fuzz
probably a Mosrite
an old Ampeg SVT amp

Yes Please.

I would love everything the Acoustic Control Corp made. The 4x15, 6x12, and W Bins first please.

I think what hes getting at is that he wants an Original, not a reissue. Pretty sure chain stores aint holding vintage pedals.

Yep, pretty much, the original chipset is no longer available, and they really don't sound the same.
Could totally use a reissue with deece results, but this is a wishlist.
Insert "only likes the demos" joke.

Three major firms made amplifiers in New Zealand in the Sixties and beyond (Holden and Gunn being the other two) but Jansen is probably the oldest and most successful manufacturer of musical equipment.

The old holden amps are the shiznet, all those nz built ones like jansen & holden were direct copies taken from schematic diagrams of the old marshalls & fenders, and then fitted out with badass speaker cones. there was some kinda lawsuit against them that took them outa business.
Theres not many amps around now that are 60w tube and only have a 8" cone and can take it

I know theres a place for 10" speakers with guitar, but really I would only ever want to use 12" and 15" speakers. An 8" would just be far too crisp and quick.
Victor Meldrews Wasp is a beautiful amp.

imagine being able to split a 7 string signal to run through a 4x12 and have enough send to flare a 15" sub aswell

I think the Holdens were real similar to Marshalls but the circuits in the Jansens aren't copies of the Fenders.

Imagine? It is really simple to do that. For example you could run a crossover to split the signal so the sub only gets lows and the rest goes to the 4x12.
