Some people say the Fulltone OCD is kinda similar to a Rat but clearer, meant to be cool on bass too.

Catlinbread SFT is really cool for some Ampegish grind, but not fake and hyped like a Sansamp.

Awesome but more of an "effect". I wouldn't want to be using one the whole time unless I was in a ridiculous stoner band.

They are really picky, awesome on some basses but rubbish on others.

Agreed, although the VT bass is FAR better than the bass driver, still not my thang though.

Boss HM-2 or Danelectro FabTone can be pretty seet for bass... no joke. Never liked SansAmps, though Julz from Malevolence was using a GT-2 last I heard but fucked if I know what that sounds like, haven't seen them in aeons

Yep Boss HM-2 are good make your bass sound like a concrete mixer full of scrap metal. Keeps the bottom end as well as a good thick distortion.

I dont use an OG rat for bass and get sweet tone from mine.
HM-2 is a killer.
GT-2 is great but takes a bit of tweaking to get it right coz of all the switch combinations etc.

Indeed it is its all I use, unless you're using single coil pickups and can't be bothered dicking around with your amp an equaliser can be helpful as well.
