I make effects pedals to order. (Pepers' Pedals)

Postby Lummoxgrinder » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:36 pm

Has anybody on punkas made their own pedals. I just finished building a pedal that contains a Big Muff Pi Green Russian and a Way Huge Red Llama. It's pretty decent as far as home builts go. Would definitely build some more. Cost me a shit load less than buying a Big Muff and was hella fun to build.

Edit.

I'm now making pedals to order. Pretty much anything. Just try me.

I built a fuzz face, it's pretty cool. Haven't wired the switch yet so it's just on all the time.

Keen to see a pic of that one you made.

Yeah I'll chuck some pics up when I find my camera. I used the smallest box possible so everything is fucking jammed into it was tricking getting it all to work but got there in the end. It has a crossover switch too so you can got BM - RL or RL - BF. That took a few goes and a few drawing to get right and a 4PDT switch

Bullshit... It's not an on off switch. You show me a drawing of it and I'll believe you.

Image

That's how I did it

Switching between either BM - RL or RL - BM
It's a cross over between two inputs and two outputs

Can't use 3poles cos you need separation between the two pedals otherwise it would just short. Trust me I deal with all this kind of switching gear all the time.

Nice tight squeeze. I built a pretty sweet super high gain ring mod / distortion pedal by fucking around with a jaycar voice changer kit. I want to figure out putting a 555 oscillation timer in it to modulate the Q point but another day I guess....

You could use your extra pole for one or two leds :)

holy fuck thats schweetbix! 8)

nice pedal by the way. green russians are definately the crustiest of them all.
ive got a v7 black russian, which is the same as late green russians but with different enclosure box.

ive always wanted to check out building one of the op-amp big muffs
theyre smaller and cheaper circuits cause theirs no transistors in em, and it uses intergrated circuits instead
but their sound is pretty unique to other muffs. more grimm/necro maybe...lol...

Currently Building a whole heap of clone pedals. Waiting on boxes and stomp switches

Made this DAM Meathead last week.

And last night I made a MI Crunch Box.

This pedal Fucking rules!!!

Also built a Krank Distortus Maximus last night but did have the right pots for it so couldn't finish and test it.
Got three Big Muff Green Russians I have to build for some people soon too.

If anybody wants a pedal made I have schematics for about 150 pedals.

You got the schematics for a Fuzz war bro?
How hard to make a combo of a fuzzwar and a russian muff and hiff them into one pedal?

I have a schematic but I'm not sure if it's verified. Can always give it a go.

Oh it's pretty easy to chuck more than one pedal in a box.

my meathead clone is almost done, Ryan ordered in some new capacitors and shit to match to the OG one he has a bit closer - had a quick thrash on it a while back just as a harness and it fuckin ruled.

in other news, the Fuzz War is one of the best fuzz pedals I've ever used - massive, hideous tone, it's fuckin great.

A bit murkier than a big muff, esp. on bass - i normally cut all the highs out with the ATK active EQ but had to leave a little in there to get that attack. fuckin phenomenal on guitar though.

Without wanting to spam or nothing, typing "Tym guitars" into google will lead you to a retro pedal maker in Brisbane, he also clones Mosrite guitars.

His Facebook link is probably the most up to date.

Disclaimer: Never heard any of them live, but anyone who has a pedal called "this machine kills fascists" can't be all bad.

Built a Big Muff Clone just recently from scratch for a client in CHCH. It's based on a green russian but has the creamy dreamer style mods. Thing sound frecking awesome!! So much sustain!!

Just started building a MXR Phase 90.
Also have two Dark tuned Meatheads and a MI Crunch Box ready to put in cases and test.
Ah 2012 a year of pedal building.

Just finished my MXR P90. Had some dumb issues on it where I put components into wrong holes but all good now. Things sounds awesome. I really like the MXR range of pedals. Going to build the MXR Blue Box next I think.

Blue box is sick but I would look for a mod that raises the output level.
