I make effects pedals to order. (Pepers' Pedals)

Wank on about your rig and how grand it sounds or just ask for advice on gear.

Along those lines Agnes, but looking for a smaller footprint. The exotic ep booster is a really nice one

JHS also make small footprint stuff that doesn't cost a bomb will last longer than any of that mooer stuff.

On the Blue Box? Because it has a battery clip. Uses the sleeve and ring to turn the battery on via the - of the battery

Yeah man it has a volume boost little bit past unity and it has switchable suboctaves 1 or 2. I'm not really a fan of it but the guy I made it for prefers it to his old original.

Native avocado trees or no go, I heard.

What's your best offer?? Avocados are expensive in Dunedin.

I fitted mine into a 1590A, so that's a pretty small footprint. If you're making it yourself that is.

Do you make the holes in the cases with a drill press or something else?

Started with a battery drill before I bought a drill press. Now I use a drill press with a stepped bit.

Definitely worth the money.

I also make pedal templates and layouts in Inkscape so I get all my holes in the exact right spot. I use this software to generate the graphics too so everything lines up. Can see if it will all fit in a box before I even start. Like so

Also I just recently built my own drill press to do the tiny holes in PCBs. Thing works a treat. Chuck goes from 0.1mm to 4mm. It's pretty rudimentary but does the job.

Milling machine would be great but not in the budget.....at this stage.

I work part time for an engineering company at the mo, basically got free reign on parts and cases plus machines. Seems like I ought to make something useful right?

Building a pedal board now. Battery powered. Supplied by 4x 18650 4400mAh Li batteries, Runs 4 x 9v, 2 x variable voltage 7v-15v and 2 x 18v. On the right hand side is a Splitter/Blender (not yet completed). Power all works just have to do the split/blend part and then make a shroud on the underside to protect it all.

Just finished building this bad boy. No PCB. Components soldered onto copper nails nailed into Rimu floor board. Stainless steel cover with big ol window to see the inner workings. The pedal is a DAM Meathead clone. But it sounds different, because the rimu is not a perfect insulator is lets small amounts of current pass through between components. Pretty cool little project. Not sure if I want to sell it, not sure what anyone would be prepared to pay for it. It is very cool though.

So this has been a WIP for a long time. Pretty much since Midnight played in Christchurch (16/04/15). After having a little chat to Athenar from Midnight about pedals and music etc, I offered my services to build him a pedal. This is a slightly modified Blueberry OD which I have named Lust Filth and Sleaze. Artwork supplied by none other than Ant Scarer. It has passed the test rig phase. I'm going to test it on a big bass rig tonight to see how it performs. Really happy with how this came.
I have included a gut shot which I usually don't do as I think the guts can sometimes be and off-putting. Just to show that it is like all my pedals fully hand made, true bypass, no smd.
I really like the sound that this delivers and I hope Athenar does to. #94 Lust Filth and Sleaze.
