Batman Origins is 26GB. Not gonna enjoy downloading PC games if they get much bigger

Re: PS4 / XBox One
If ISPs can host/cache the entire Steam repository, surely they could do the same with the PSN/XBL Marketplace games, so you wouldnt be metered for international bandwidth for downloading games? With the amount of people that are going to be, it would be good business sense for them

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Even worse is mine is a christmas present from my wife/parents because I'm too poor while I'm studying, so no PS4 until Dec 25th for me haha.
Re: PS4 / XBox One
Been jamming PS4 a bit, shit is pretty awesome. Quiet as fuck, new controller is boss.

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Had a brief jam on a PS4 at JB the other day. Didn't do anything for me. As always, seems like it'll pick up as more games come out. That said, the current stuff on PS3/Xbox are keeping me busy plus my huge steam backlog.

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Yeah, told the gf not to bother buying a console because I'd just rebuilt my rig and I have controllers hooked up to it anyway, so it's pretty much the same thing. Although I think I might regret doing that >.>

No way man, Steam confirmed streaming from your gaming rig to a shell of a Steam Box, meaning you will have literally the same thing, for little money, with all your games on it forever, without need to ever shell out for the 'new version', as long as your compy is more or less doing good.
I'm waiting a year til that comes our, and if it's not shit, that's the last 'console' I'll ever buy. We'll see, but I'm hopeful.

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Well, sticking with a high end pc means you also get the chance to be an early adopter of the Omega/Oculus Rift. PC gamers will be fucking around with VR (and VR SDK) generations before its coming packaged with consoles.
Only thing about that steam box is it probably wouldnt support one person using the pc, and one person streaming to the console at the same time. Also I really want a sony platform just for the exclusives eventually.

Re: PS4 / XBox One
After being spoiled with ridiculous Steam sales for so long I really don't miss Halo or whatever. Having to wait longer for GTA could be a bit of a hassle, but I've gotten used to waiting a bit anyway. Mainly I just don't want to fund that kind of bullshit customer splitting. Both as bad as the other imo
But yeah if you want to use the compy and play games it probably wont work.. but dropping 1k + into a gaming setup and then buying a console on top of it... Blehhhh. I'd buy 600 bucks worth of PC games over that any day haha.
But the only last gen console I got eventually was a Wii, which was fun, but apart from that I guess I ended up becoming a PC master race fanboi. Used to be hard out into Xbox/ PS. Things change I suppose...

PC and a PS4, best of both worlds

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Everthing else is amazing enough to more than make up for the dpads ludicrous display

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Yeah. I wonder if the XBONE controller is just the same thing with a better d-pad. Then I'd probably buy it. But for now my PS3 controller on PC does the job

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Apparently the sticks on xb1 controls are wobbly-er, haven't tried personally but that's a worry imo.

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Yeah wobbly is accurate.
I'm seriously in love with the PS4 controller, they took the better triggers and concave stick nubs from the 360, made it a bit bigger and weightier from PS3 one too. Options/button placement takes a little getting used too but nothing major.

I have high hopes for

Really high. Otherwise I find PS controllers ok, but I do think their shape isn't that ergonomic. I think they're probably held back by their fanbase, who would freak the fuck out if the PS controllers changed much. I always thought the original massive xbox controllers were super comfy to hold (me and pretty much nobody else apparently), but the 360 controller isn't too bad. Haven't tried the PS4 or xbone controllers, but they look like they might be pretty good/ have taken a leap forwards

Re: PS4 / XBox One
Those steam controllers look awful I reckon. Since when have touch pads been any good for games. Ever tried playing on a laptop without a mouse?
First reviews from the beta don't sound good...

They have haptic feedback which means there's motors under the pad that can be used to give physical feedback, eg it will (hopefully) feel just like you're pushing at a stick, but way more flexible, eg it can feel like you're rolling a ball that's 'rolling' under your thumb, or a wheel that's 'clicking' round for each option, or a D-Pad, or just a stick.
People saying they're just a touchpad are way off, that would be shit for sure. But anyway, it's all speculation until I can try one..
I've only read generally positive things from gaming sites so far, but maybe I've been looking in the wrong places?
