what part of that don't you understand? Games in a shop, $100. Brand new/preorder AAA steam title 70-80 US, which is pretty much the same price.

Most decent ISPs have their own steam server so that downloading games doesn't actually touch your cap.
/in b4 'this isnt a pc gaming thread'.

(but actually, if ISPs can host steam servers, why can't they host PS3/PS4 game servers? Those massive downloads would definitely put me off)

Who buys games not on sale on Steam : S
Seriously. Don't want to wait 6 months for half price? 12 for inevitable 75% off? Speaking of which new sale should be coming up soon ahhh
But maybe I'm just a cheapass

edit: sucks if you have a shit cap and no free steam dl though, glad I don't have that problem

I never buy fullprice on steam (almost never). Just saying that the price points for new releases are pretty much the same. Stoked snap has a steam server

Steam on launch is expensive yeah, but there are other legal ways to obtain keys. I always wait for a price drop, retail games never get this.. $3 for Super Meat Boy, saw it in JB-Hifi for $30 :s. We get regionally price jacked all the time too, Greenman Gaming have taken it upon themselves to hand out vouchers to Aus/NZ gamers to curb this.

Yeah I just got Company of Heroes 2 preordered for NZ$58 from Green Man Gaming and it's still listed on Steam for US$79.95 8O

I just buy all my console games from Mightyape.

Have you played CoH2 yet? I saw some gameply and it looked fucking amazing. Considering shelling out for it and I'm too lazy to read reviews

It only unlocked on Steam this morning, will probably give it a good hoon on the weekend.

Its awesome. I dont have retail (am trying to trade of dota2 items like a madcunt for it) but the beta was fucking awesome. The 120mm mortar teams are too good at countering infantry heavy strats (which I love D: ). The tanks are all pretty rad, never got a chance to use the panzer tiger but panther 4's + command tank with some engi's & shreks were scary good. The winter effects dont really ever become significant since firepits are 60 with no cap. I've found flamer engis can just torch tree's/anything and it provides heat forever.

Overall great game.

EB/Gamestop here in Nth US are no longer guaranteeing launch day PS4's.
I guess you really need to ask yourself... What Would Graeme Do?

Anyone got a handy link to help a n00b (is that term even used still?!) decide on which console would suit me best?

Why do you need a link? I thought it was just unanimous that Microsoft are dicks and PS4 is going to be better on pretty much every front. Unless I missed some recent updates

the xbox is going to suit overseas customer base with massive internet infrastructure
the ps4 is going to play games

if that doesn't help, let the games libraries decide

Drive Club is a pretty good idea, keen on that and Mad Max EB isn't guaranteeing launch day PS4 consoles here anymore, not that I could afford one anyway.

It doesn't show double anywhere though. Explaination doesn't really match the pictures, still a good example dude just needs to get better at writing.

I feel like they don't really try and sell polygon counts anymore.
It was bump mapping a while ago, and now it's shaders. They're definitely offering better returns. Watched a Battlefield 4 vid the other day, and it's all lighting and dust effects etc that make it I reckon

True that, everyone seems comfortable with the idea that models aren't going to get any more detailed, and don't need to. Particle physics, dynamic lighting/water and destructible environments etc are what is going to benefit from more power at this stage

Looks like the next generation coming has pushed up install sizes to 40-50gb, definitely a good thing but going to hurt my bandwidth :|
