Fuck that looks decent. I'm still not willing to ditch the eee pc range though, I'd probably break that on the first day by sitting on it or something.

Oh yeah, I had a play with one of these with the keyboard attachment in JB the other day, seems real dece. Only complaint was that the mouse button was way too small on the keyboard thing.
Tablet itself was hella smooth.

Only 16GB, though depending on use it likely doesn't matter / you can put a memory card in later.

So, so smart.

Just kinda surprised more people don't take that approach by default? Usually way better than having to run another annoying app to access cloud storage. The fact that that seems to be the only way to do it for box net is quite encouraging imo.

I use 8player app which is set up similar to the ps3 menus... (and its only one that seemed to work for me) Plays everything. I havent tested all formats but some 1080p and 720p work perfect and some not so well but this would be the fault of the app/ipad processing power. Just tried loadng 300 in 1080p. on here while my daughters watching her cartoons on my iphone, no delays, it just works.
Ill test it later on today but if i only have to cnvert some HD files then im prettyhappy. All avis etc work perfectly, everything is fast loadng.
If you get a goflex make sure you update the firmware, performance enhancments plus you be connected to your goflex and your internet wifi at the same time. Before i updated shit wasnt working and kept cuttng out.
I have mne just hooked up to the mains but its got a.7 hour battery life, good to take in the car with the kids, plus it comes with a carcharger anyway.
$200 well spent!
You probably have zillions of terrabytes worth of media. Might pay to wait for a larger than 500gb drive

Heres a few references as to what plays well and what doesn't. All standard avis for tv shows work fine.

Image
300.mp4 (4gb file 1080p file)
streams to ipad perfect

Image
Kill Bill Vol 1.mp4 (1.8gb)
streams perfect

Image
Machete.2010.720p.BRRip.XviD.AC3-FLAWL3SS.avi (2.8gb)
streams jerky

Image
for.the.birds.2000.720p.bluray.x264-sinners.mpg (120mb file)
streams jerky
