You will find most "snipers" in cs are the best players, because they perform the best in the opening 2 rounds to get that weapon out in the 3rd round.

i dont play CS, only had a few gos, but really didnt like it, like i said, too much focus on 'realism' ruins games.

theres nothing better than surprising a nest of snipers and hearing their hypocritical cries of unfair play and accusations of hacking while your kill count goes up, sometimes the dumb fucks actually come back and settle in while you hide and you get a second go, theres always one who becomes convinced youre hacking lol.

Oh yeah, fair enough. Noobs that camp with sniper rifles deserve nothing more than a right rogering from behind. Out flanking a sniper (or a nest in that case) is a great, great feeling.

The roaming snipers who peel entire teams on the move are fucking awesome however.

Quick scoping is just as bad as camping.

I like to introduce Snipers to my good friend Mr. Semtex.

Ha yeah. Quick scoping was balls as in MW2, but I was a scar-H noob so I cant really complain.

i generally play CTF and the maps tend to be built like something you would play paintball or laserstrike in, they always have a sniper nest and theres always a few sneaky ways if you know how to take advantage of them, ive come up against some amazing snipers tho, guys that nab you as you powerslide past the slightest window(put there for that purpose usually), sometimes makes ME suspect hacking, im usually cannon fodder until i can make my way to the other end and wreck havoc, im not a spawncamper, but i usually harvest a few souls there as the noobs cluster around then make my way to the sniper nest/s, depending on the map, or go for the flag of course.

duke3d's devastator and quake 1 rocket launcher. have fond memories of being forced outside by my dad with a limp (from sitting on one leg) and bloodshot eyes after 6 hours of playing quake 1 'the cistern' map with a bot mod middle-summer. also loved the first Unreal, though I only ever got about halfway through. thoroughly enjoyed return to castle wolfenstein too.

anyone ever play lameduke? it was a very early alpha version of duke 3d.

That article is all kinds of awesome. I feel a lot of the same things apply to modern fighting games as well.

this explains a lot to me, pretty much why im still playing Urban Terror, ive noticed that a lot of people seem to consider it too hard, but i find my limited success in games like COD and battlefield really frustrating, ive made the complaint that the game is 'too easy' which is met with 'then how come you dont win more?'

I loved having the DC characters in a fighter too, actually pretty pumped for this... Plus it has Aquaman!
