LOL gg and just donated because of ratio warning. Doh.
Re: ScT closing down
good a time as any for you clowns to switch over to DDLs
this site gets stuff faster than SCT did - not as comprehensive of course, but there's a ton of blogs.

SceneTorrents.The.Final.Notice-ScT
By now most of you already know that ScT will be going offline permanently.
However, due to pending legal issues, we are not at liberty to speak freely about why we've chosen to take down the site.
Members of our staff were arrested and will be undergoing the entire length of the judicial process.
Obviously, in the case of criminal proceedings, it would be downright foolish to comment any further on the situation;
Please bear this in mind and wish them the best of luck.
There have been several theories as to where the donation money (of the recent months) has gone. We'd like to take this opportunity to put all skepticism to rest.
The money was used to purchase new hardware that would ensure our spot as the fastest tracker on the net.
You are free to perform whatever calculations you feel necessary, but in doing so it should become very clear that running a site of this stature costs money.
We feel the overwhelming cynicism is just a product of bad timing compounded with general frustration caused by the current situation.
We sincerely hope that you've enjoyed being a part of our wonderful community over the past 4 1/2 years.
We've certainly enjoyed our members letting us be of service. We've always felt our user base played an equally important role in making SceneTorrents.org a model environment in the torrent world.
The staff would also like to express their gratitude to fellow trackers for their support in such a chaotic time. Several well known communities have voluntarily opened their doors, and have offered our former users a new home.
We appreciate the courtesy and acknowledge the steps being taken to move forward collectively as a community. Your assistance does not go unrecognized.

I'm at scc now, seem pretty good. but why do they have 3 browse sections?

Re: ScT closing down
don't get why you crybabies need scheduling. it takes me about 4 mins to get a half hour episode. it's not like you're watching them all simultaneously. And if you're not on an unlimited traffic plan, you probably waste more money seeding torrents than you would on a premium hotfile account.
the only reason I keep pushing this as an option is because I used to think torrents were the bees knees until I actually gave it a proper go... looking for a somewhat obscure film? Odds on it's on piratebay etc... with 3 seeds and takes 2 weeks to download. Hell even a lot of the private movie trackers I used were less than stellar seed/speed wise. $5 says you can find the same thing, from google, and download it at full speed from a ddl in about 30 mins.

Re: ScT closing down
i bet you can't find the selection/quality of music like what.cd, not to mention full 5 seasons of a show in one download
i need scheduling so that all my torrents seed/dll from 1am-7am (free traffic) and stop dll and limited seeding during the day

scc seems fine, getting most major shows? at least the ones I watch

most download managers worth a damn have scheduling.. just saying..
as for the tv thing, have a look on http://forum.tvfreeload.com
pretty much any tv show or movie you can think of is on there. except the ones that aren't.
AAAAAAAAAANYWAY, that's the last time I try to help you narrowminded downies out haha

Re: ScT closing down
wtf? I could give a shit what you like or don't like. I'm merely offering a superior alternative. imo.
I still use what.cd and some other torrent sites from time to time... but unless it's decidedly obscure, it's not hard to find elsewhere.

it appears you don't either. guess we're even.

Re: ScT closing down
fair enough. there's plenty of sites similar to this though
http://www.zerosec.ws/
that's the main one I use, everything I follow turns up on there very quickly
but yeah, end of the day, whatever works, works. I'd get decidedly shit unreliable speeds from torrents, especially really big stuff. This works sweet for me cuz it maxes my connection.

Re: ScT closing down
SCC is decent, the only stuff ive noticed that doesnt turn up much (that would be on SCT) is xbox games, and the archived packs and stuff arent as well seeded.
dunno about how the selection will go now though, as simon said they do seem to get a lot of their stuff from SCT. speeds wise i get 800k odd on a popular torrent, plenty fast enough.

Is the usage shaping that bad? Was looking to switch to Big Time, but only really want it for torrents.

Sounds pretty sweet then. I tend to torrent at night. Mainly movies/tv though. I just get music whenever.

Are there any good torrent sites to download punk on? tpb is pretty lacklustre and I'm not into searching blog spot for direct downloads when my connection drops out too much.

Is that for sure?
I've found Rapidshare sucks night and day on Telecom Big Time, as does Megaupload, Hotfile and a few more. But Mediafire, EU and other less-popular hosts are super-fast.
I always assumed they were shaping, but never knew categorically.
Re: ScT closing down
Rapidshare maxes out at 180 for me during the day, although occasionally it blazes. Hotfile's consistently gone 900kb/s~. These are using premium accounts though, not free

Re: ScT closing down
Fuck me. My Rapidshare (free) limps at more like 20 at best. I've never seen speeds above 250 on any host (although I can get a bunch going in parallel).
