Ok... well the machine I've been playing, sometimes it flicks the ball up so it hits the glass. It's that sort of random thing that would never happen in a computer simulation...

Yeah I've had that happen a few times... Once the ball totally got stuck so I gave the machine a good jiggle and it cost me the game! Stink as.

Fail.

Maybe not on your ver. you got bundled with Windows '95.

Randomisation in game programming is common as fuck, it's what adds to the 'realism'.

Actually dick if you were running it in stereo it would. :P

No one ever said that video game ver. of pinball is better than the real deal.

Seems to be some sort of defence for virtual pinball.

I would like to presume that I speak for almost all of us when I say that it is, without any doubt, exactly about what you are saying - the disagreeing is merely a logical follow on from that. Seriously, it's not that you are not a nice person, it's that you are simply painful to deal with.

Hmmm. I fancied myself as rather amusing to deal with.

Or is it painful because the disagreeative things I say are not SOOOO stupid that you can just dimiss theM?

What I like about youse is that the disgreements I get are often amusing or intelligent.

I love how people go out of their way to better themselves over others (on the internet).

Well, I'm off home to run my virtual pinball through stereo. Meeeean. 0X

No-one is better than anyone - on the internet - it's more about maintaining some sense of comprehension.

End of the day, we're all equally on the level of shitbitch no matter what anyone says.

Disagreeable I suppose...

well ACTUALLY.... from what I've read at www.random.org Computers really *aren't* good at 'generating' random numbers. They either use a pre-made list, or they use some external random source (random.org uses atmospheric noise)... So it would be pretty disturbing if Keno was using the first method.

That would take a ridiculous amount of space, they use an algorithm to generate them.
or they use some external random source (random.org uses atmospheric noise)... So it would be pretty disturbing if Keno was using the first method.

'external source' in this case is referred to as entropy, when generating real random data your computer would use things like the mouse input as a source of entropy.

These problems don't really apply to keno though, because the problem is that if you know the algorithm being used to generate the random data, it could be reversed engineered - but if you use a different algorithm that uses entropy to really randomise it, it can't be reverse engineered. So you're still getting a list of numbers that people are not interfering with or anything. I could go on about how it is used in encryption, but I can't be bothered.

bah, this can be reversed engineered... just gotta sort out some knowledge of the reiman hypothesis and it'll be easy to crack ;)

i think you are both getting a bit hyperstimulated

The real question is, how is the algorithm used to generate Keno numbers affected by the moon?

If this sort of thing disturbs you, I suggest watching The Blair Witch Project, you will get a good scare and a mild disturbing. The great thing is, the movie involves a whole lot of randomness, impossibilities, and moon-guided trekking.
