Distro / Software for HTPC computer

Postby E Z B » Mon Aug 25, 2008 5:06 pm

Anyone else here have a HTPC setup ? Ive got a dedicated machine that id love to watch movies (DVD / downloaded), tv eps (across the network) and also play mame games / dega (Sega emu).

Is anyone here doing this atm ? Would it be better to setup a linux distro esp made for that or run some software ?

Linux prob go with something like MythTV.

Windows based go with MediaPortal.
I guess you really need to ask yourself... What Would Graeme Do?

Currently setting up openmediavault on a box, that's the easy part, on my second install now cos I fucked up the GUI side so I can run XBMC on top plugged into TV and have sickbeard and couchpotato running in background.

Reason for using omv is it merges all the physical hard drives and treats the as one.
