Anyone know where to get any soy type mayo in Christchurch,
I'm in Wellington atm and know of a place on Cuba Street that has it, buying some for my girlfriend before I go back, but like would be nice if I could find a place in Christchurch so she could buy it whenever she wanted.

Yeah that kingland one is the one I've got for her, she's convinced that you can't get it anywhere there but that just seems silly. It's like the time my ex tried telling me her friend was the only girl in the whole of Christchurch with the name of Arnika.

Re: Soy mayonnaise in Christchurch?
Im keen to give this recipie i saw on the post punk kitchen forums:
"i have a recipe for the perfect mayo - you seriously can't taste difference between this and any regular mayo.
1 part soymilk gets whizzed in the blender for a minute. while still whizzing it, you add in 1 part neutral tasting oil (canola or sunflower), and let it whizz for another minute or so, then add in some regular vinegar, and when it thickens, add a bit of salt. you gotta get the amount of vinegar right, but besides from that part, it's pretty damn amazing. and so easy that you'd think it's a joke.
i used to make tons of this when i did a soup kitchen weekly, wheren we made a lot of burgers and seitan kebab and stuff like that.
Sounds pretty easy.

Piko Organics in Christchurch usually sells this shit anyways, kilmore and barbadoes corner. most New Worlds in CHCH stock a bunch of Kingsland stuff too.
My brother's girlfriend is called Arnika, weird.

Could look around for a recipe using ground flax seeds... it's delicious, only vegan mayo I've made that tastes good and is actually thick. Made a aioli kinda thing out of it too.

There's definitely a couple of mainstream brands of light mayo that are vegan- ETA's one, there's a few others I can't remember. Just read the labels at newworldorder/ Paknslave
