If I'd wanted the opinion of a meat smoker I would have asked you.

it was an open ended question so you may as well have asked me.

goddamn vegans. there's a certain point where you're just being a pedantic cockwrangler about things.. and it is WAY before you start worrying about animals in your booze

There is this vodka company that claims to be vegan friendly, but secretly they are not, but just do it kindof as an "inside" joke because they hate vegans. I can't tell you which one it is though because that would ruin the joke.

Enjoy the vodka. 00oo0oOOOoooO is it the "trick" brand? :)

9 out of 10 vegans will agree anything with alcohol is considered vegan, even if its fermented meat blood steak

Is it just me or does homebrew (homestilled?) vodka always end up tasting like paint-thinner mixed with dogshit?

But most vegans actually don't want to do anything that involves any effort, commitment, or lifestyle adjustments.

They want the smug superiority without the effort.

And to be honest that's not fair on the ones who've put in the effort to earn the right to be cunts.

a guy who picked me up hitching recently works for the company who make ethanol for almost all nz spirits. i grilled him over what was vegan and he said anything that says bottled in nz is made with whey-ethanol, purchased from fonterra. i had this information confirmed by a colleague in a chem lab. so to avoid non-vegan spirits buy spirits which are made overseas.

also, a lot of imported spirits are remixed with fonterra's whey ethanol and flavouring to increase the volume. this way it can keep its original label as 'heaven hill' or whatever..

for those non-vegans posting on this thread, you might not be interested in the details of animal rights or consumerism, but why would you want to support a company like fonterra? they are the fuckers responsible for the loss of our once clean green environment, they are also responsible for funding bias studies on dairy products which only alow the release of 'possitive' nutritional information on their products.

do they really make significant earnings from whey alcohol?
i thought it was simply a waste recovery type operation.

well... they are certainly exacerbating an existing problem, and in anycase, even tho its a now a powerful entity, its still the same thing, farming.
