jalapeno relish -oh sweet mother

Postby Momma kim » Tue Jan 08, 2008 1:00 pm

Just tucking into lunch at work-haven't actually done any work for over 2 hours.
My bagel lies waiting in my lunch bag, i take it out, unwrap it and instantly regret using gladwrap instead of the bagel bag it came in-im badddd.
My heart skips a beat. Has my bagel been overcome by the sog?, will the sog be distributed unevenly?
My fears are put to rest as i take my first bite of my third meal of the day. The jalapeno relish i tentatively trialled hits me like a renegade golfball on maunganui road.
Praise be to golden sun for making this delight. Not too hot but enough to know its there. gherkiny and pickly and tangy and divine.

Do it now. I dare you.

Most supermarkets as far as i know. i used to get it at pack'n'save. Im pretty sure the brand is golden sun and they make a good tomato relishy thing too. And its one of those lower price range relishes not like anatoth or the other amazing but break the bank ones. Enjoy my friends.

Chicken Breasts
4 x Jalapeno Peppers (can vary depending on size)
1 Cup Cream
2 Tb spoons butter
Cheese
Chicken stock powder or cubes, as much as you want to flavour, don't need much.

Blend cream, chicken stock and butter to make a sauce.

Place chicken breasts, halved for quicker cooking, or whole if you have a bit of time in a shallow oven tray.

Pour blended sauce over chicken, bake @ 350 degrees F for 30 mins or until hot.

Add cheese slices and bake until cheese melts.

Yeah I underestimated my tomato plants ludicrously. They are fuckin huge, bout 40 fruit on each. My little habanero is getting pretty big... need bigger garden.

maybe google a jalapeno relish recipe or preserve them for use on pizza's, in vegan burgers, some for relish, etc.
if you need to use em right now i would make maybe a chickpea and muchroom and jalapeno sald type thing with bits of jalapeno with sauteed mushies and chickpeas with some lemon/lime juice and anything else you wanna throw in-dunno if it would work its nice with normal chillies.

Fuck jalapenos rule so fucking much. Some of the best sandwiches I ever had comprised of (yes, i was high. clearly):

wholegrain bread
best foods real mayonnaise
hickory smoked bbq sauce
cheese
corn chips
old el paso pickled jalapenos

Holy shit, I need some right now. Cunts.
