I am always worried that these "mock chicken", it may be REAL CHICKEN, just falsely re-labelled to catch the vegan shoppers. How would we ever know?

My point is, that vegans who haven't eaten "real" chicken for decades would not know the difference.

No, because the kids who make the "fake chicken" have got their art so honed that u cannot pick the diff if they get the texture right.

vege oyster sauce from yans also. i got a bit carried away and spent $50. got a teapot and a cup and some oolong tea and shitloads of tofu and a kg of mock chicken and cha soba - green tea noodles and rendang curry paste and panang curry paste and mystery 50c drink!! and sticky rice.and stuff.

nah vegans would know if it was real chicken cos they develop something not unlike gaydar - the MEAT_AND_DAIRY_DAR

anything with animal products, as soon as it reaches the tastebuds at the latest, a big prissy light turns on and a siren that goes 'EEWWWWWW' starts up. Vegan saved.

(recipe from http://recipezaar.com )

Beef Pate

Great for using leftover hamburgers from a cookout! For an extra kick add hot sauce or cayenne or black pepper.

time to make 10 min
10 min prep

1 1/2 cups cooked lean ground beef (cubed)
8 ounces fat free cream cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons Miracle Whip
1/3 cup lowfat mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

(Offal is presumably an optional extra to spice it up!)

fuck yeah, that fake chicken stuff is fucking awesome.
i've had it the same as you prepared it bro..."roasted" with spices and oil on it. fucking delicious. those places sometimes stock "duck" as well, with "skin"...pretty convincing, tastes badass.

davis trading petone seems to rotate between all these sorts of products that probably exist, the crispy duck skin/slice/piece things that quite a few places seem to have is awesome, and so super fun to eat cold, and when you cook it it puffs up into this giant insane mountain. but they also have little chicken nibbles with legs and those skin bumps and everything haha yeah they are yummy.
