use lentils.

i combined a hash brown recipe with some rad curried lentils and discovered 100% pure delicious.

1 - peel and grate potato (use kumara as well, 50/50 mix), then strain grated potato of about half of its moisture (best way is to wrap the gratings in a tea towel then squeeze).

2- boil lentils until soft in well salted water infused with kaffir lime leaves, coriander, cumin, chilli, turmeric, fresh ginger and garlic.

3- strain lentils until same moisture level as potato

4- combine lentils with potato/kumara, add potato and mix until you have a slightly pasty, cohesive mass.

5- add other seasonings, like chopped onion, fresh herbs, mushrooms, etc..

6- fry, eat.

there was a really good one on vegweb.com that even meat eaters enjoyed.. from memory you want to halve the liquids though.. was a bit sloppy other wise.

and add extra sage plus pepper/tobasco/stuff you like.

1 cup of rice
1 cup of red lentils
1 cup of brown lentils

Boil in 5 cups of water until the lentils and rice arent crunchy and its a mushy patty kinda mix.

Stir in tomato sauce, herbs, spices, fried onions, garlic etc. to taste. Grate in any vegetables that need using.

Mould into pattys and fry it up.
come 'ere

Why do vegetarians always want to eat shit in the format of meat like burger patties and sausages?
I am not a vegetarian, but I don't eat meat...I just don't like it, but I like chicken....I just don't get why vegetarians would buy vege sausages...well not so much buy them, but want to call their creations vegetable meat....

Why should I shut up? All I was saying is that I don't really like meat, but I do like chicken....I would never call myself a semi vegetarian or lacto vegetarian, because I think the whole thing is just stupid...like how gay is it to wear a patch saying "ooh I am a vegetarian" good for you, what do you want a prize?

Those pattys sound good...

when i make vegan patties for my boyfriend i usualy end them by shaping them into pattys on the bench with flour on it, dipping the whole thing in soy milk then tossing it on a plate of herbed breadcrumbs before frying or baking. WOOT.
