thats the worst recipe ive ever read.
i am of the mind and the opinion that if something doesn't accept you,
you do everything in your power to fucking destroy it.
i don't care if it's the world, society, your family or a fucking high school
keg party.
you do everything you can to hit back...and strike back.
let go of some of that fucking hatred
i wanna poison this world the way it fuckin poisoned me.
i'm gonna to everthing, EVERYTHING in my power to corrupt, to twist, to
destroy, to rip apart, to poison.
i'm gonna spit my last breath in all your faces.
you're gonna hear me laughin at the end.

well I was in a rush and didn't do things in the best order...but it went like that

fried garlic onion. added basil, time oregano, mushrooms. Sauteed in red wine. added 3 cans of tomatoes and a cup of brown lentils. cooked for a while until lentils were softish. put in some broccoli and cooked for a bit longer.

made white sauce: fried onion and garlic, added some herbs. added about half a cup of flour. added some soy milk and some water. stirred until thickish. added some tomato sauce and mustard. realised I had no nutritional yeast :(.

put down a layer of the tomato/lentil mix about an inch thick, layered with thinly slices zucchini then white sauce then lasagna sheet. more lentil mix, capsicum, white sauce, lasagna, lentils, white sauce, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.

cooked in the oven at 180 C for about 25ish minutes.

Cooked this a few nights ago. Didn't use your recipe Pert because I thought Punkas was down

I think it's quite good

Easy Nutmeat, Spinach and Mushroom Lasagna

Feeds 5-6

Sauce

8 large button mushrooms, sliced
5 cloves crushed garlic
4 cans diced tomatoes
2 large onions
2 tbsp of mixed herbs

Filling:
9 egg-free lasagna sheets (ones that don't require pre-cooking)
200g chopped spinach
15g fresh basil
2 sliced courgettes/zucchini
2 475g cans nut meat
2 tbsp yeast flakes
1 1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. rosemary, crushed
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Sauté the onions, garlic and mixed herbs over medium heat until soft then add mushrooms. When mushrooms begin to darken add the diced tomatoes and simmer for a few minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. (375 F)

Place the nut meat in a bowl and mash until a fine consistency. Roughly cut the spinach and basil into the nutmeat then add the sliced courgettes, yeast flakes, spices and herbs and mix well.

Spread 1/4 of the sauce on the bottom of a large baking dish (~the same size as 3 lasagna sheets) then cover with 1/3 of the filling mixture. Repeat until you have three layers of filling and sauce and spread the remaining sauce over the last lasagna sheet layer. Sprinkle yeast flakes over the top sauce layer for a cheesy topping. Cover the dish tightly with foil, and fan bake for 30 minutes. The lasagna will cut better if you allow it to cool for 15 minutes before serving.

well if you don't like the taste you don't like the taste, it's pretty much impossible to cover up.

My non-vegetarian described it as:

"It's bizarre. It looks like cat meat and tastes exactly like mince"

Which I thought was pretty accurate.

haha, yeah I kind of a void it just coz it weirds me out.

I don't think it tastes like real mince though, it has that weird 'im pretending to be meat' taste that heaps of faux meat products have regardless of what they are made of.

ive always hated it, i like lots of fake meats tho, just cant stand nutmeat.

i think bigbird posted a recipie for sausage rolls that are made with it on here once, i was gunna try it, but nutmeat costs heaps and doesnt even taste nice.

haven't tried that. The tender pieces a million times more catfood like than the nut meat, gross as.

I've never bought it, but the lentil mince (or what ever its called) seems stupid because making shit with lentils is so easy anyway. Anyone tried it?

Dollar for dollar nutmeat is pretty similar in price to mince. About $5 for a 475g can. But yeah compared to what meals normally cost it is on the steep side.
