Nope, we're all straight males that love nothing more than a beer and a good game of rugby. I myself also enjoy chopping wood and listening to ACDC while beating up my girlfriend.

heeeeps of music- and the weird interesting post-punk, new wave squawky yet oooooo so spunky girl band is happening in a big way (I mean all that in a completely positive way!!)

there is a queer scene, Dunedin is actually bloody good, (even if I am older than everyone else!) I've always had fun in wellington too.
I'm hoping Orcland is rocking this summer, cos I'm going to be working in the Waitakeres. In uniform!! Just call me "rrrrrranger serra!!"

There's so many reasons to move to NZ for summer, just to do something different, meet new people!! Go on, you know you wanna...!!

Stop trying to attract attention to yourself.
You're an aging hippy trying to diversify their everyday existence by pretending to be different.
You all bore me. Don't tell me I'm wrong, I don't care what you think. I am superior

The group at the end of that link is probably right down your alley if you're looking for queer/bi people, or just friendly people. Most of the people there also love New Wave, assuming by New Wave you mean early 80s etc...

wellington = awesome. move here, it's beautiful (just bring some wind proof clothes). it's generally pretty accepting, and very diverse. in conclusion, come to wellington.

grass is greener syndrome.
Melbourne is cool, but it's just another city.
NZ has some bloody good culture and music happening! And some bloody great people!
Have a good time over there- you'll end up hanging out with the same nzers you hang out with here!
