Re: New Rancid Album
I haven't listened to the whole thing yet. I found telegraph avenue pretty terrible when it was released (just as I was typing this I had it playing and my 5yo daughter started dancing around so there you go, maybe it's a youth thing). Rancid isn't a band I listened to much until my late 20s. Mainly...

Sorry to hear that Serra. Sucks about health issues stopping you doing field work. Getting into the bush is definitely my happy place. My ex was dealing with anxiety and ptsd, and even though it's cliche as fuck now, mindfulness courses did seem to help her. For a bit at least anyway. I'm doing OK w...

I hope shit gets better for you Andy.
Dementia is tough. Especially when they come back for a little bit and it seems like everything is normal and then they're off again. Watched my Grandma go through it.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02651/Luminaries_cover_2651971a.jpg Thought I had better give this a go. It's ok, I'm not really a fan of period drama. I find the astrology stuff with each chapter shortening by half pretty gimmicky. Although it does mean the pace is picking up.

Yeah you can get pretty fucking deep into it eh. If you know how to weld a 2 x 72 seems pretty straight forward to make. Rip a variable speed motor out of an old treadmill and get some cheap skateboard wheels and you're pretty much set. I was looking at getting one of these just for shaping handles ...

Also, and this only really applies to old farts (I mean old farts as in actual old people who don't even use the internet, not the older posters on here), don't write off something just because it's made in China/Taiwan. Bahco's socket sets are made in Taiwan and they're good as fuck. This. I'm on ...

I spent two hours tryna do my back lawn with a weed whacker on sunday. I was horendously drunk and couldnt get the line in properly and it kept flipping out after a couple minutes of whacking. I should of really given up but on i went. The neighbours would of had a hoot listening to me swear away. ...

I bought a second hand Masport 4 years ago for $180 and it's still going hard. The timing was always a bit fucked and I've only changed the oil once but it still does good job.
I love doing the lawns. Something really satisfying about it.

Thanks man, I'm finding out it's a lot harder to do without the proper tools though. I'm missing having a properly set up workshop. I've been slowly building up my tool collection over the last few years. I love being able to fix/make shit and learn new skills at the same time. Makes me appreciate even more some of the amazing craftsmanship out there.
