For those wondering, Gareth Morgan's UBI would be funded by a tax on 3% of the value of any assets. This approach might also deter stagnant investment and encourage taxpayers to shift their money to more productive areas of the economy. Say what you like about it, but Morgan has the basic premise co...

Haha so that NF guy showed up to a bleeders show being a knob, started a fight with a bunch of 16 year olds but gapped it and left his smaller, quieter mate to get beaten up. Then bragged because he didn't get beaten up? If I'd known he was such a giant douche I wouldn't have bothered pulling entran...

Shitripper etc at Ward Lane
So anyway. Electric Mayhem were good. The mix was clear which made the whole set more enjoyable. I enjoyed playing with The Break In to the small but spirited audience. Shitripper - again it was cool to he...

Re: Japan
Definitely agree on the rail pass, it seems expensive but the cost of Shinkansen tickets would add up pretty quick. We ended up doing a bunch of cool stuff we never planned to because we had already paid for unlimited travel for two weeks. Dunno if it's the sort of thing you're into, but fuji-q high...

Firmstrong Bruiser Prestige Cruiser Bike
So my girlfriend won this bike from her work: http://www.ghphoto.co.nz/Firmstrong/content/Bruiser_Prestige_ShinyBlack.html We aren't the cruising types but I wondered if anyone on here would be keen to get amongst the classic/retro stylings of this beautiful bicycle? If so, make an offer. RRP is NZ$...

Re: Japan
There is a vege/vegan? ramen restaurant inside Tokyo station. I went there a few times with some vegan friends that are living in Tokyo. It's not bad, but I generally prefer my curries/noodles/soups flavored with animal juice.

Re: Turia: Iwi want to be 'major players' in asset sales
I like the idea in terms of of making the best of a bad situation... but it does seem a bit of a farce. Iwi handing over settlement money to the state for assets that they already own by virtue of them being state assets. ??? But if they provide a good return and Iwi can make it work then all good I...

Well... I just watched some more of this idiot's videos. The police in the video are morons, indicative of a great number of morons in NZ police department, and there's no way police should be running errands for power companies. ... but I can see why the police might be called to assist a power com...

I remember sitting around a table one summer with a bunch of friends of mixed religious backgrounds... One friend brought about a mixture of laughter and offended indignation by basically suggesting Christianity had a monopoly on morality. To suggest atheists have a monopoly on reasoned theological ...

Re: What's happening to the rule of law?
Seems like national's theme is "I do what I want" I keep wondering why national seems to be doing so well in the polls when basically no one I've spoken to would vote for them. Who are they polling? No one asked my opinion. Pretty bullshit. It could be that you've unconsciously weeded nat...

I'm sure redswitch will have a mate/relative/mate of relative/relative of mate who is an authority on GPS's... but in my humble opinion, qualified only by my experience of 5 or so years in the map retail industry and a short stint in consumer electronics, Garmin is the best GPS company. If this phon...
