Re: Tool time...

I find it's best to buy hand and power tools I need to actually work from proper trade stores and anything else can come from Bunnings as most of it is single or occasional use stuff I'll just add to the pile. Ozito have apparently upped their game with that new 18v stuff, and you can always take it...

Re: Beef thread

Outside watching the fight obviously. Allow me to bore you all with a half remembered story from an ancient 90's zine. Blokes had a shitty day hitching somewhere in NZ and ends up in some random small town pub, where he orders some food and a beer. A couple of sheilas start scrapping and get sent to...

Re: Butthole Surfer Wins “Yard of the Month” Award in Austin

My version of the beige suburban thing is the country town thing, which I quite like except for the horror of taking my son to things like music and play groups where it's either bogans I don't want to talk to about hunting and footy or faux hipster mumsies who believe in essential oils and dress th...

Re: Legendary NZ band to feature in full length film

I just skipped through and watched about ten minutes all up. There's literally a half dismantled stock car in one of the guys scenes, like they really wanted it proudly displayed in the background as a feature. The thing I found bizarrely admirable is how those guys will still be absolutely fucking ...

Yeah, ironically hooking into 13 year olds is old school patriarchy and will be the new beard in 2018.

Re: 'a bit original and interested in design, but not outrageous'

Couldn't help but get sucked in. Probably the best post is the one where he meets some randoms down the pub and they go back to his for a session and then he insists on giving them a fire twirling display but they're not at all keen. So he makes them go outside anyway because he can't trust them in ...

Re: Katherine Dolan's "why NZ is sux0rs" stuff articles

That article is pretty much everything I dread about coming back to NZ. That and the websites devoted to tales of woe from immigrants and expats returning home and finding it horrible.

Of course, the only way to find out is to go through with it but the risk versus the rewards seem dubious.

Re: New Rancid Album

CD player in my car broke the other week and I've been forced to listen to the radio for the first time in years. It's weird because on one hand you find yourself hearing things you'd totally forgotten about as well as being far more tolerant of songs you'd utterly despised at the time. On the other...

- Makita is a good, all-round (if you're not wanting to hit up the real high-end shit like AEG and Milwaukee). Overall, I've found Makita is the best option for variety and dealing with issues. A lot of guys I've worked with end up buying the biggest sets they can get from the US, shipping them her...

Festool is so fuckin pricy and i cant justify splashing out that much. I've definitely gone wild with tool buying in my old age. Reckon I'd have a split between half decent gear, half throw away shit you buy once to do one job.
