Get one of those tri head attachments and you just chop lengths of cord and bung it in as required.

Re: Tool time...

i mean id buy a crappy old one and spend as much time trying to make it go as i do actually mowing. Yeah, sorry, just jokes bro. I've spent my entire adult mowing career with hand me downs and cheap pieces of shit, so it was nice to actually just pick one myself for once. I bought a second hand Mas...

Re: Tool time...

Festool is so fuckin pricy and i cant justify splashing out that much. Yeah, I was sort of joking there, but at the same time not really because if I could ever afford it I'd have a full set of it in the proper cases and everything and then just smugly bask in the warm glow of never letting anyone ...

Re: Tool time...

I've definitely gone wild with tool buying in my old age. Reckon I'd have a split between half decent gear, half throw away shit you buy once to do one job. Though a fair amount of the shitty Trojan stuff from Bunnings has served me well, especially the open ended /ring spanner set. The drawers case...

Personally I find lower middle class white people to be the worst humans ever. Especially in Australia. Most self-entitled, whiny, loud, self-mythologising ignorant pieces of shit on the entire planet. Yeah, no one likes bogans any more than they do people from anywhere that lack basic manners and ...

New Zealanders need to be polite and conscious of others yet getting irate and having no respect for others who haven't grown up here and are unaware of such expectations At which point is calling out someone for being a cunt having no respect for others? Re: The Trivial Irritations Thread

Nah, it's quite fair enough. It's a nightmare at times here as they are the only people stupid enough to buy the ridiculously shit and small apartments that keep getting built in the CBD and so they just shuffle about the town in massive groups, having zero spatial awareness at all and being incapab...

Quit for a few years then started up again a couple of months back at work. Re: Where would you move to in NZ?

The iffy work factor is definitely the one huge thing putting me off moving back. Dunedin appeals for that small but cosmopolitan and arts orientated city vibe, but I wonder how hard I'll find adjusting to the employment opportunities. The mrs is an academic, so having the uni there appeals on that ...

Definitely something to consider as I might end up doing a bit of international commuting for work and being an hour ish from the airport would appeal. I wonder what the train to Wellington commute is like - Oz is quite good with the regional rail for commuters, hopefully it's similar back home. Hou...

Re: Where would you move to in NZ?

The affordability factor of Otago is definitely a massive part of the appeal.

Things like a 3-4 bedroom, totally renovated house on 1/4 acre, 20 minutes from Dunedin with bush and sea views for the cost of a shitty 1 bedroom unit in the shittest ghetto in Melbourne... madness.

That rammed earth tyres eco house and / or mud bricks style might be your thing then. Ideally, I'd like to build a quick, simple tilt slab or hebel house. Re: Katherine Dolan's "why NZ is sux0rs" stuff articles

I kind of wonder what would happen if NZ adopted European alcohol laws - street drinking, low prices etc - would we just have mayhem for a year or so and then get on with it? Those laws are a reflection of their overall culture though. NZ wouldn't suddenly gain a sensible, adult approach to drinkin...
