Re: Corona Virus
Haha, whoah. Never really knew this King Cannons carry on, I guess being isolated down in Dunedin has its advantages. Seems like some sort of bizarre aspirational bogan shit? What even are bands these days anyway. Actually, I was pretty confused by the band that opened for Sleaford Mods in Auckland....

So faaaarking glad it's the mid-semester break so we can pause and take stock of moving courses and shit online overnight... undergrads seem to be generally stressed out and not coping that well (despite us being told they are "digital natives, and might even be able to show us a thing or two!)...

Re: The Datsuns or The Cavemen
Ah forget em both. Listen to Tadpole! Yeah I had a dubbed tape of them when I was 13. And no, at that age I wasn't aware of the obvious theme it was eluding to. Anyway, the Datsuns are shit, the Cave men need a hair cut, and this song stinks of the late 90s/early 2000's, but hey, we jammed to it on...

Re: The Datsuns or The Cavemen
Funny thread. Would make more sense to compare The Datsuns to The D4 or another band like that. From what I've listened to The Datsuns are waaay more leaning towards classic blues rock, hard rock and garage rock whereas The Cavemen do scruffier garage punk/rock 'n' roll, but I haven't seen or heard...

Re: the new hipster shit from uk (sleaford mods)
*sigh* <rant>I had a beard and a waxed moustache, wore wayfarer style glasses, was deep into nerd culture, listened to metal and indie, said no to dairy, drunk espresso coffee daily, etc etc BEFORE ALL THAT SHIT WAS HIPSTER. Does that make me some kind of veteran hipster? No - it just makes me old ...

Meh, England played simple solid rugby and the ABs had no clue what to do, best team on the day won. Everyone seems to be on board with that and no one seems super bummed out.
Rugby sure as fuck means a lot less in NZ now than it did 10+ years ago. Good.

Few good things on the horizon over the next while. Might be less of a hermit (probably not). Beastwars/Swamp Dweller and Bazooka/Conniption gigs in the next couple of weeks :) Yeah, will try get to both. Shitty timing as I'm trying to finish off thesis writing. Sounds a bit lame, but the beastwars...
