Re: Tool time...

Yeah you can get pretty fucking deep into it eh. If you know how to weld a 2 x 72 seems pretty straight forward to make. Rip a variable speed motor out of an old treadmill and get some cheap skateboard wheels and you're pretty much set. I was looking at getting one of these just for shaping handles ...

Also, and this only really applies to old farts (I mean old farts as in actual old people who don't even use the internet, not the older posters on here), don't write off something just because it's made in China/Taiwan. Bahco's socket sets are made in Taiwan and they're good as fuck. This. I'm on ...

Re: Tool time...

I spent two hours tryna do my back lawn with a weed whacker on sunday. I was horendously drunk and couldnt get the line in properly and it kept flipping out after a couple minutes of whacking. I should of really given up but on i went. The neighbours would of had a hoot listening to me swear away. ...

Re: Tool time...

I bought a second hand Masport 4 years ago for $180 and it's still going hard. The timing was always a bit fucked and I've only changed the oil once but it still does good job.

I love doing the lawns. Something really satisfying about it.

Speaking of drills I thought this was useful: http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/thiswayup/audio/201827995/the-truth-about-electric-drills I don't even know what brand my drill is, my partner had it already when I moved in with her. I've managed to get by with it the last couple of years b...

Phil, get hold of Shea Stackhouse, he sells damascus billets and is the guy who taught me. He'll be able to sort you out. https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=shea%20stackhouse There is always the Pakistani stuff for cheap but it's a bit a crap shoot as to whether you get something decent or usele...

Re: Tool time...

Thanks man, I'm finding out it's a lot harder to do without the proper tools though. I'm missing having a properly set up workshop. This guy, Richard van Dijk, makes some of the nicest stuff in NZ I reckon. He made swords for Weta Workshops for The Hobbit and regually sells knives for over $5000 a p...

I've been slowly building up my tool collection over the last few years. I love being able to fix/make shit and learn new skills at the same time. Makes me appreciate even more some of the amazing craftsmanship out there.

Re: Tool time...

I bought a drill recently. I don't know what sort of drill it is but I bought a whole box of drill heads from really big ones down to really tiny ones you could drill a hole with that you could barely stuff a solitary pube down. I'm using any excuse I can find to drill holes in things. Recently I d...

Haha. I'm putting together an anti-fascist punk show at the moment and quite like this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q15qLdQ9bNM Just looked up the band though and I don't think I can take it seriously anymore. https://berlinbeat.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/zsk_2011b.jpg

First posts worst posts

So I've been on here for about 11 years now.

I just went back and read some of my first posts. So earnest and naive. It's like reading an old diary but way worse cause everyone else can see it to. :explainittomelikeimfive:
