Harrison Bergeron, pretty good and scarily relevant. Just watched it since it's on youtube in full:

i got halfway thru shantaram recently, i was obsessed by it, but since ive been back in civilisaton, i havnt touched it Just read Shantaram and enjoyed it, but deliberately avoided searching online about how much of it is fact or fiction until afterwards. Bit early in the year to get the woollen jerseys out though. Must be why Mr Vintage came up with these:

Re: punkas dream journal.

I think a lot of us who are even slightly perturbed at the challenge of finding a suitable public bog in this reality tend to dream of holding it in while navigating absurd restroom labyrinths with half-formed ceramic deformities and walls that'd barely conceal your belly button. By letting the liqu...

Re: punkas dream journal.

I dreamt I was at a fish 'n' chip cafe in rural NZ and bought the weirdest items they had, including two battered insects on sticks which I decided to eat first. I started with the head in one bite as that seemed less gross than nibbling on it. I can't recall ever dreaming a taste so vividly before....

Re: 1980s PCs

Unfortunately writing to the hard drive has stuffed the PC a bit now, but we can still play games on disks or maybe find a replacement. At least it happened after I looked at this quality material: https://i.imgur.com/aCr9nMj.jpg I only moved once as a scrub, a 4km drive away when I was 18. Ideal fo...

Holy! Well, it's images nicked from that. Some of the proto-GIFs are pixelly scenes taken from pornos, but they take ages to load. I'll have to look at all of them and see what else I find.

Meanwhile, before there was SingStar, there was this:

Re: 1980s PCs

There are some 5¼" Leisure Suit Larry disks, probably for the first two games but I can't get them to work. But that's not interesting because you can easily play it with DOSBox etc. What is interesting is the obscure shit, like the animated images on disks labelled "X-Rated" that som...

1980s PCs

Big middle finger to third millennium electronics here. Our first PC from 1986 is still working just fine, along with the original monitor. It's a Super Star XT-6 made in Taiwan - an IBM XT clone which infringed on a patent or two. https://i.imgur.com/YUhz6S3.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3zNAgE9.jpg This...

Re: Cheese roll tour of Southland

Although I'd been around most of Southland and Otago as a teenager, I only had eyes for meat pies. I didn't learn cheese rolls were a thing until after my last visit to Dunedin in 2015! I have however heard of expat Southlanders heaping the onion on them, so if that's the secret ingredient then y'al...

Re: Star Wars 8

I don't care for Star Wars, but then I'm fairly indifferent to just about anything remotely resembling a modern action film. Main exceptions are probably Kill Bill and Enthiran...
