Re: Prangable Celebs

Just watched Equinox (1992). Bit of double trouble for this thread as both Lara Flynn Boyle and Marisa Tomei are in it, although Marisa's role is minor. It was ok.

Maybe a 5/10 but it can go in the thread as I preferred every other mutant in the family I've tried: - B...

Re: Top Three '77 bands

The Professionals aren't really my thing, but 'All The Way' is a great song. Didn't mention The Runaways as they're a hard rock/'76/whatever band, but they smashed the Jones & Cook tune Black Leather. Easily the best track on their final album (and possibly the only one worth hearing): https://w...

Re: Top Three '77 bands

Lol sup bruce, implying Venom were behind the times by a couple of years? 1. The Clash - not hugely fussed on their debut, but they're the band from the timeframe that went on to record some of the best tunes 2. X-Ray Spex - the best (or at least one of the best) '77 singles, followed up with my fav...

The Parallax View is a political conspiracy film with dystopian overtones, liked it. Fairly sombre on the whole but with some absurd dialogue/scenarios that made me chuckle.

This is nek level and must be heard to be believed. Label tries to cash in on thrash metal back in the day, borrowing the name of a band that split up a few years earlier. But the vocalist they used is something else entirely:

Re: punkas dream journal.

I dreamt I was watching an Aussie Supercars race set mostly in the countryside, but with part of the track going through high-rise rooftops (Road Redemption influence). Jamie Whincup is leading by most of a lap and comes careening sideways into the rooftop pits in a hot rod, somehow giving it a blas...

Genuinely productive for me from an educational point of view as I hadn't watched it before, except possibly short clips. Not like I've got much else to do while eating dinner. Already 2 hours deep after 3 sittings.

Always loved the Daphne & Celeste album. It's anything but monotonous given the songs are all themed: cheerleader/pop/weeaboo/Halloween/showbiz/country/rock/dance etc. and the joke love song below. Also holy shit they came back with a new one this year. Only recently discovered they'd done a com...

Re: Revenge of What book are you reading at the moment?

The movie of the Cloud Atlas is annoying to the point of throwing things of you have read the book. I was too morbidly curious to not see them try and pull it off. Thought it was alright considering what they were working with. But making it a smorgasbord instead of the sandwich didn't help. The im...
