Re: Drinking wine

I've tried various white wines lately out of boredom/curiosity. Considering my parents mostly stuck to sav blanc and I rarely partake when I'm with them anyway. Can't say I'll be changing my beer habits much, although my girlfriend is a chardy gal. Which reminds me: https://www.facebook.com/trashofa...

Re: Good ol Punkas.

The state of this f&c shop in Glasgow was a source of much amusement for me. Multiple broken seats roped off with masking tape and the guy running the place was overly talkative. Yeah, the chips were a bit shrivelled, but not bad for the price.

Re: Good ol Punkas.

PunkAs ain't really the place for gig info any more. Other cities are lacking venues but Auckland has plenty despite what some people say. Seems like there's far less good punk bands here though... or at least they don't get to know each other and coordinate to put gigs on.

I feel like I'm being punished for my impulsive rants It's not because they're impulsive. It's because they're inscrutable nonsense. It equally feels like your rants are punishing us. Chris Knox returned to the stage to sing Toy Love - Sheep at Punk It Up on Sat. Then he just yelled for a while and it was great.

Re: Drinking cocktails

I watched a friend's band play for a couple of hours at the very snooty Caretaker cocktail bar in Auckland last year. $19 a drink so I set myself a limit of 2 and did my best to make each last 1 hour. Not necessarily overpriced though as they're like the Lego of custom cocktails. You imagine i...

I can barely wrap my brain around Wikipedia's summary of Negative Dialectics. Adorno does sound a bit punk in that he attempted to bash the fash with words, but I'd rather not go further down his rabbit hole, lest I return sounding exactly like Sob Soc. Actually I'm decent at translating things into...

Already have enough single points of failure tbh, eg. most accounts linked to the same email address. I have a password system. It's in me brain and if that fails then I'm not gonna be needing my passwords too much.

I like how we have 3 threads for grumpiness of varying degrees now. Anyway, websites that save your credit card details without an option to opt out while purchasing, so you then have to make several clicks to remove it again. Eg. Google and 7digital. More irresponsible with Google as that generally...

Have filled At the Gates Tour over, band's been filled. :baton: Weird choice for only metal band you like maybe. I struggle to listen to them without being put in mind of dodgy stuff they've likely inspired, eg. 8 Foot Sativa. The vocals on Slaughter of the Soul kinda remind me of a less cartoony 3...

Strictly keeping this to exactly 14 items to preserve the format. 1. The lack of robotic automation in the home 2. Spelling and grammar lapses in the information age. Informal writing is fine and all, but phrases such as "real good" are utter shite. 3. People who reply with "I'll have...

Pretty much blown away by Scorpions' prog rock debut album with Michael on lead guitar. Never got hooked on their later stuff.
