Not sure where you got 7.5mm from?? 2.5mm flex is what they are. It also comes down to strand count. High End speaker cable has a Shit load more strands than standard flex. Which is more surface area inside the cable for current to travel down. There is a point where it gets ridiculous with buying ...

Don't use it. It's a wire wound transformer so doubling input will double output and 36volts may not be great for your pedal.

But your diesel engine isn't a generator and your alternator isn't designed to charge a bank of batteries... Using fuel to create electricity then storing that electricity to create heat later makes no sense. Fuel is much better suited to storage than electricity. The whole idea is kind of fucked up...
