Re: New and aspiring home owner discussion forum

I'd quite like the shelves though. My place has no storage. People in the 1860s obviously had no stuff, or lived out of banana boxes ..

I forgot about this fine thread. I bought a house in July, an 1860s cottage in Port Chalmers. It's only the borer holding hands keeping the place together... :)

Re: Anti SJW thread and/or alt right neo nazis

Nobody is good. Anyone who tries to rise above that is either naive or a virtue signalling shit with their own nefarious agenda. whatever. I'm good. And I'm not naive or a virtue signalling shit with my own nefarious agenda. Besides, good is a purely human construct. Humans are not flawed as...

Re: Cheese roll tour of Southland

Cheese roll from the slightly less shit cafe at Dunedin airport. $5 for a jumbo cheese roll- lots of bread and a fair whack of cheese, but very little flavour. The roll was toasted and was oily, but not from butter. The largeness of the roll meant it needed to be cut up to be eaten- which immediatel...

Re: Cheese roll tour of Southland

That leg of the tour is over. There will be more in the next couple of weeks- probably Dunedin- Catlins, and Dunedin- Oamaru. I'm gluten intolerant and have to recover from eating them before heading out to review others. Such is my dedication...

Re: Cheese roll tour of Southland

Next: Bracken Hall, Mossburn. The small flat white was passable- not great, but ok. The cheese rolls were great. Waiting cold in the cabinet, they were toasted on demand, presented with extra butter to slather over the top. Good strong cheese and secret ingredient. Standard size, pretty damn good! I...

Cheese roll tour of Southland

Driving around Southland and Otago, I generally go for a cheese roll and a coffee wherever I stop. This first review has just been sparked by a stop in Riversdale, a village between Lumsden and Gore. There will be many more. I do this as a public service for all. Happy to expand it to a review of tr...

Nope, that was my biggest learning of contracting: Contractors don't get shit. Except ripped off of any worker's rights or union representation.

Re: Christmas work do's get just a little bit silly

Such a tame affair. Nibbles put on but we had to buy our own drinks. Secret Santa wasn't completely shit. I just be getting old because I got a wheatbag and thought it wasn't a bad thing. Breakup bbq in the vehicle basement today at midday. Glutard sausage and coleslaw then me, some planners and the...

Ok, I've been thinking about my punk as dating profile for about 5 years and I think I have something. Woman, 44, Otago. Approaching matronly in shape. Interested in friendship shags mostly as I refuse to give up my hard won spinster status. I don't care of you have kids, just don't share the sticky...

Tonight was a homemade glutard pizza with veges, cheese and coconut bacon stuff that I am testing. It wasn't bacon, but it was good sprinkled on my pizza.

Re: Your day?

Got home at midday after Dan's memorial picnic on Saturday. Completely wiped out but couldn't sleep so prepped a canvas. Then met up with a friend and ate fish and chips at the mole at Aramoana. Fed seagulls chips out the window then walked to the end of the mole. Saw a seal with a huge bite on his ...

I'm sure a lot of people have heard already, but Dan Hill, known as Snow, big Dan, punk Dan and as Dan Fatal , killed himself in Australia last Thursday.
