im still recovering, so i'll list my highlights.

justice yeldon
fucken awesome sounds using a contact mic and a piece of glass.

big flip the massive
didn't see their proper show but could hear it in my hungover horizontal position, but pretty impressive, and they played at box wars but i was too busy trying to tear apart boxes to really enjoy them.

the show is the rainbow
awesome music, and fucken funny videos.

mostly tho.. just drank too much and took too much.
one of the most all out parties i have ever had.

anyone else go?

I didn't make a huge effort to see bands and just kinda stumbled across whatever was happening at the time. Plenty of great stuff though, and not too much awful shite haha. Pretty much just the biggest most awesome casual party ever, cruising around, catching up with people, talking shit, having some laughs, drinking some drinks, drugging some drugs. I'm pretty gutted it's over and I've returned to shitty reality where I have no money and no idea what the hell I'm doing with my life.

the weather was amazing, to the point of getting a bit overbearing quite often. Still, awesome! You'd have to be a real cunt to have been at this and not had a good time.

oh, and the Wainui public pools are mean

not as intents as last years. my fav bands where : east brunswick all girls choir, damsels, sharpie crows, wilburforces, mount pleasant, my disco and boyfriend. gutted about missing the stabs and rifles and drumheller and the show is the rainbow. playing in the renegade room was so much fun and it was cool people showed up. telling everyone playing the drums to shut the fuck up was pretty funny.

ditto what everyone else has said

it was awesome. box wars was intense (even as a spectator!) and the pool party was rad. All round good vibes A++

yea, we walked around with a complaints box taking complaints and then at about 3 in the morning on the last night played john zorns "locus solus" piece and based each song on the complaints.
we had tom from dhdfds on drums, mat brennon on vocals and gat, me on bass, alphabet head on turntables and Justice yeldham doing his thing with the glass!
it was pretty bad buzz hahaha!

The Complaints Consortium was neat. My favourite bit was when Alphabet said in a mousey voice "My noodles taste like my foreskin."

Bands I liked the most were OUCH MY FACE (Big cheesy heavy bogan riffs, large sharp vocals), JUSTICE YELDHAM, THE SHOW IS THE RAINBOW (Obnoxious & witty and super fun. People who write songs about body image win places in my heart. People who write songs about Hitler's meth mouth steal my heart completely.) , and TOECUTTER!!!! What, with the sequins, the shitty calls, the nasty fast shit and the his dick just hangin' out til his dramatic diving finale, he was a legendery dork. TFF were a charming young surprise. Baseball were really damn good, I think they even cured my allergy to fiddles. Sharpie Crows, Big Flip and Mean Street and Disasteradio all delivered. Rifles were great. No matter what nonsense Tom wears he manages to look like a frustrated corporate worker on casual Friday. Of all the CALH's this was my favourite line-up by far a long shot. The best bands were generally new to me.
It was convenient that Wilberforces were playing the renegade room at the same time as the Finn Family Crooningtrolls so I didn't have to sit around on the lawn participating in Christmas-in-the-park style singalongs with soft, dated musicians. There was a lot less anarchy amongst my people this year. Lord knows why I can't stay away from microphones when I have lost my voice completely. Even a lost contact lens and inability to read words did not prevent deranged attempts at 4.00 am karaoke. Bless.
